Nissan has officially announced the revival of the Xterra, a legendary off-road SUV that was discontinued in 2015.
The new Xterra will feature a body-on-frame platform, which will also be used for up to four additional models.
The Xterra will be powered by a V6 engine and a V6 hybrid powertrain, and will be produced in the United States with a target release date of late 2028.
The Xterra is part of Nissan’s long-term vision, which includes a focus on electrification and autonomous driving technology.
The new Xterra will compete with other off-road SUVs such as the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco.
