Toyota is exhibiting a prototype of the new Crown Estate at the CROWN “next-life” SALOON -SENSE of NEXT-, an experiential event being held at the Toranomon Hills Station Atrium Cafe for three days only from March 22nd to 24th, 2024. We’ve had the chance to see the exhibit, so we’ll be sharing our report here.
Toyota’s new Crown Estate, the first model to be revived in 17 years, is personally the coolest!
This is my second time seeing it in action, and while the lights weren’t on the last time, this time the vehicle on display had its LED daytime running lights and LED rear combination lights on, which looked really cool. The hammerhead shape gives it a powerful look, and the front part has the trendy U-shaped daytime running lights , but this one has a more mature and casual feel compared to the rest of the series, with LED daytime running lights.

Many people on social media say that the Crown Sport is the coolest Crown model, but I personally feel that the Crown Estate is the coolest, a modern version that is practical and has the feel of an SUV. Its announced dimensions are 4,930mm long, 1,880mm wide, 1,620mm high, and a wheelbase of 2,850mm, and it certainly feels large.

The rear features “LED rear combination lamps” that are thin and sharp, stretching horizontally . The 21-inch aluminum wheels were particularly impressive. It gives the impression of incorporating the latest trends.

The model on display this time was the Crown Estate PHEV , which is available with two powertrain types: HEV (hybrid) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid), both of which are 4WD models.

Last time I wasn’t able to open the hood and see it, but this time I was able to see inside as well.

The Crown Estate’s greatest appeal is its spacious luggage compartment; if you fold down the rear seats, they become flat and you can lay a mattress or something inside, ensuring enough space to sleep in the car.

In addition to the Crown Estate, a total of three vehicles were on display: the Crown Sedan FCEV (fuel cell vehicle) and the Crown Sport PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle).
