TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has announced that it will exhibit at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, which will be held at Makuhari Messe for three days from Friday, January 10th to Sunday, January 12th, 2025. The TGR booth will feature a number of exciting projects based on the main theme of “building cars at the Nürburgring,” the origins of Chairman Toyoda Akio , also known as Master Driver Morizo .
Experience Morizo’s origins at the Nürburgring!
The origins of TGR and Morizo can be said to be the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race , known as the world’s most grueling race . In 2007, Morizo entered the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race for the first time together with Hiroshi Naruse, who was the master driver and mentor at the time, based on the belief that “racing is the best stage for passing on technology and developing human resources.”
The vehicle used in the race at the time was a modified, used Altezza . The drivers and engineers were all Toyota employees, making it a truly handcrafted team. This challenge symbolized the origins of TGR’s philosophy of “making ever-better cars, driven by motorsports.”
At the TGR booth at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, precious vehicles will be on display, including the Toyota Altezza No. 109 (the car that competed in the 2007 Nürburgring 24 Hours), the car used in this first race , and the Toyota Supra (Nürburgring training car) that Morizo used for his driving training at the Nürburgring. Visitors will be able to experience TGR’s history and passion firsthand.
Morizo will be appearing at the press conference and talk show!
Morizo himself will be taking to the stage at a press conference on Friday, January 10th from 9:30am . He is scheduled to talk about TGR’s vision for the future and his passion for motorsports. There will also be a talk show during the event . Under the theme of “Challenging the Nürburgring,” Morizo and other TGR drivers active both in Japan and overseas, professional drivers, evaluation drivers, engineers and others will appear to look back on past races and discuss their outlook for the future.

A heated demo run! Rally vehicles race through the venue
At the outdoor venue, an exciting demo run is also planned, featuring Morizo , TGR-WRT Team Principal Jari-Matti Latvala , TGR-WRT Team Acting Principal Juha Kankkunen , and driver Norihiko Katsuta .
Rally cars and concept models of rally cars will perform dynamic races right before your eyes! The roar of the engines, the squeal of the tires, and the clouds of dust… it’s sure to be an exciting experience that stimulates all five senses.

This time, the TGR booth will be moved to the North Hall along with Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. In addition, the “Land Cruiser BASE,” which Toyota Auto Body previously exhibited in a separate booth, will also be set up inside the TGR booth.
The TGR booth will be even more powerful with the addition of “LAND CRUISER BASE,” which will showcase the appeal of customizing the Land Cruiser. The entire Toyota Group will work together to liven up Tokyo Auto Salon 2025.
