Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, one of the world’s largest custom car festivals, will be held at Makuhari Messe from January 10th to 12th, 2025. While numerous automakers and custom shops will be exhibiting elaborate vehicles, Mitsubishi Motors’ booth will be attracting the attention of visitors with a wide variety of custom cars and rally cars under the theme of “Have fun and be cool!”
The popular pickup truck “Triton” is shown off with a variety of customizations!
The star of the booth will be the Triton, a one-ton pickup truck that was released in February 2024. To maximize its appeal, Mitsubishi Motors will be exhibiting a variety of customized Tritons.
Triton Hiromi
The first thing that catches your eye is the custom “Triton Hiromi” car, created by the brand ambassador, entertainer Hiromi. This pickup truck, characterized by its large diameter wheels and high ride height, has been customized to a low-down specification that is ideal for city driving. The plated parts have been wrapped in a matte finish to create a sophisticated atmosphere.

Additionally, the grand prize winner of the Triton Custom Contest, chosen by public vote, will also be on display. This custom car, selected from a total of 16 entries, is sure to capture the hearts of those who see it with its unique and sophisticated design.
Also not to be missed is the Triton event car equipped with a DJ booth, created in partnership with Red Bull Japan. This Triton vehicle, equipped with a DJ booth in the loading compartment, is actually used at dance events hosted by Red Bull Japan, and not only livens up the event, it also embodies Mitsubishi Motors’ playful and adventurous spirit.
Popular models “Outlander PHEV” and “Delica D:5” also appear as custom cars!
In addition to the Triton, Mitsubishi Motors’ popular models, the Outlander PHEV and Delica D:5, will also be on display with unique customizations.
Outlander PHEV NIGHT SEEKER CONCEPT
The Outlander PHEV NIGHT SEEKER CONCEPT is a custom concept car inspired by the world of Konami’s popular METAL GEAR SOLID game series. It combines Mitsubishi Motors’ philosophy of building cars that can reliably reach the goal even on the toughest roads with the world of the series, which features authentic undercover missions, to appeal to a wide range of generations seeking a sense of authenticity.
Delica D:5 BLACK Edition ACTIVE SEEKER
The Delica D:5 BLACK Edition ACTIVE SEEKER is based on the special edition BLACK Edition of the Delica D:5, and features a matte gunmetal and low-saturation green color scheme. Graphics designed to resemble the terrain of Tokachi, Hokkaido, where Mitsubishi Motors’ test course is located, stimulate the spirit of adventure.
Vehicles competing in the “AXCR2024” rally that have completed the grueling race will also be on display!
Asia Cross Country Rally AXCR 2024 “Triton” rally car (race spec)
The Triton rally car, the Delica D:5 support car, and the Delica Mini support car that competed in the Asia Cross Country Rally 2024 (AXCR2024) will also be on display.
The Triton rally car was modified in accordance with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile’s Group T1 regulations, and with enhanced power performance on high-speed stages and improved off-road performance, it was a capable car that survived the grueling rallies.
The Delica D:5 support car takes advantage of its robustness, maneuverability and off-road performance, and is equipped with a lift-up suspension, off-road tires and an aluminum engine guard to further improve its off-road performance.
The Delica Mini support car, which is a light vehicle but is equipped with a lift-up suspension, all-terrain tires, and an engine guard, and completed the entire AXCR2024 course, proving its high off-road capabilities.
These rally vehicles not only demonstrate Mitsubishi Motors’ car-making technology and durability, but also convey its passion for motorsports.
There will also be plenty of stage events!
In addition to vehicle exhibits, the Mitsubishi Motors booth will also host a variety of stage events.
The event will be packed with content, including an awards ceremony for the Triton Custom Contest, talk shows by Hiromi and motor journalist Kei Takeoka, and talk shows by drivers participating in AXCR 2024. There will also be a stage show by members of Red Bull Street Jam, and a live tour showcasing the appeal of the Mitsubishi Motors booth and vehicles.
In addition, between each stage, a video showing the driving communication SNS that utilizes the Metaverse, scheduled for release this spring, will be shown for the first time.
