Mitsubishi Motors is rumored to be developing a new Lancer Evolution. A full model change would mark the 11th generation, and designer Hycade has produced a CG rendering of the 11th-generation “XI,” which we’ve been pondering. The special edition ” Lancer Evolution Final Edition, ” a version of the 10th-generation and final model, the Lancer Evolution X, was released in August 2015. Limited to 1,000 units, reservations will close once that number is reached. Sales ended on April 18, 2016.
Mitsubishi Motors’ new “Lancer Evolution” 11th generation forecast
The key to the development of the new Lancer Evolution is likely to be product development utilizing the alliance between Renault, Nissan Motors, and Mitsubishi Motors. Renault, in particular, is still focusing on sports models, and has developed the Megane RS , so it is likely that an engine will be adopted and improved upon. It is also expected that the platform will be the Alliance’s CMF platform. The addition of Mitsubishi’s proprietary S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) integrated vehicle dynamics control system, which adds AYC brake control to the AWD system, will give the car a Lancer Evolution-like feel.
Mitsubishi Motors’ new “Lancer Evolution” 11th generation predicted CG
This is a CG rendering of the 11th generation “XI” model created by designer Hycade, and it seems likely that the design will be based on the previous model and finished with the latest design.

Will Mitsubishi Motors have a new Lancer Evolution?
The Lancer Evolution is a signature Mitsubishi Motors car, also known as a WRC vehicle. Commonly referred to as the “Lancer Evo” or “Evo,” back then, friends and acquaintances would often discuss whether buying a car in this class meant choosing Subaru’s “WRX STI” or “Lancer Evo.” However, with the times, sales of performance-focused cars were declining as consumers moved away from sedans. However, Toyota, led by Chairman Toyoda, has revived many sporty-minded vehicles, including the “Supra,” “GR86,” “GR Corolla,” and “GR Yaris,” a must-have for car enthusiasts. Considering that Nissan and Subaru continue to sell the “GT-R” and “WRX S4,” respectively, perhaps Mitsubishi’s missing piece is the “Lancer Evolution.”
About the Lancer Evolution Final Edition
Mitsubishi began selling the special edition Lancer Evolution X, the “Lancer Evolution Final Edition,” in August 2015. Advance orders began being accepted through affiliated dealerships nationwide on Friday, April 10, 2025. Price: 4,298,400 yen. Sales are limited to 1,000 units of this model, and production of the “Lancer Evolution X” has ended. Orders will close once 1,000 units have been sold.
Equipped with a 2.0L MIVEC turbo engine, this special edition Lancer Evolution Final Edition marks the final special edition in the approximately 23-year history of the Lancer Evolution, which began in October 1992 with the first generation. Exclusive to the Lancer Evolution Final Edition is the newly developed sodium-filled exhaust valve, which is said to improve cooling performance and reduce engine load.
Lancer Evolution Final Edition Equipment
Standard equipment includes Bilstein shock absorbers, Eibach coil springs, Brembo brakes, Yokohama 245/40R18 high-performance tires, BBS wheels (dark chrome painted), Recaro leather combination seats (with the Recaro logo embroidered in red), and a plate engraved with a serial number. Personally, I feel very sad, but the Final Edition is also a wonderful car, and I look forward to seeing what Mitsubishi does in the future.
