Mitsubishi Motors has added a special edition “BLACK Edition” to its popular all-round minivan, the Delica D:5, which was announced and released on November 7, 2024.

The “BLACK Edition” features jet black accents and is based on the top-of-the-line “P” grade. Its exterior features black mica throughout, including the front grille and door mirror covers. Choose from three body colors: Black Mica, White Diamond, and Graphite Gray Metallic/Black Mica.

Furthermore, the “CHAMONIX” exclusive decal on the tailgate uses a special green color that evokes the image of conifers growing in snowy mountains, and the front fenders feature a decal with a camouflage pattern and a green car name logo, creating a design that stands out in outdoor scenes.

The interior features seats made of a special fabric combination designed for ease of use during outdoor activities. The suede-like material and synthetic leather, which have been given water-repellent properties, are used so that passengers can easily get in even with snow or water droplets on their clothing. The three-dimensional border quilting design is comfortable to the touch and non-slip, and features silver stitching. The instrument panel and door trim also feature silver stitching, just like the seats, creating a unified interior design. Furthermore, the ceiling lighting of the roof beam garnish is a special white, and the ornament panel and accent panel feature a wood-grain burl finish, further improving the interior’s texture.
Body color
The body colors are available in three colors: White Diamond x Black Mica and Black Diamond x Black Mica, both exclusive to the car, as well as Graphite Gray Metallic x Black Mica. The “CHAMONIX” exclusive green color is used for the front bumper emblem, tailgate emblem, tailgate decal, all-weather mats, and aluminum wheel decals. Camouflage patterns are also used on the fender ornament decals and side decals, further enhancing the outdoor image. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 179,190 yen (151,030 yen for the vehicle itself, 28,160 yen for reference installation, and 10% consumption tax included).

The “CHAMONIX Complete Package” is available as a dealer option, combining exclusive original accessories reminiscent of the “SNOW SURVIVOR” exhibited at the Auto Salon, such as door mirror covers and engine hood emblems that use the exclusive “CHAMONIX” green color, as well as camouflage-patterned body side decals. The price is 260,370 yen.
About the Delica D:5
The Delica D:5 is the successor to the Delica Space Gear and is the world’s only all-rounder minivan (SUV/minivan type) passenger car. “D:5” refers to the fifth generation of the Delica. Sales began on January 31, 2007. Clean diesel models were released on December 26, 2012. The car has undergone numerous minor changes up to the present day, maintaining its popularity. The Delica D:5 will undergo a major minor change in February 2019, marking its 12th year since release.
Mitsubishi has made a major minor change to the new Delica D:5, and began accepting reservations on November 21, 2018. It was released on February 15, 2019. Instead of a full model change to the Delica D:6, this time it has undergone a major minor change to become the new Delica D:5, with a significantly revised front face and a completely new image. The lineup includes the “URBAN GEAR” custom model. Prices range from 3,842,640 yen to 4,216,320 yen. It will be exhibited at Tokyo Auto Salon 2019, which will be held from January 11 to 13, 2019.

Furthermore, the maximum torque is expected to be increased by 5% compared to the previous model, and fuel economy is also expected to improve. The preventive safety technology “e-Assist” includes a Forward Collision Mitigation Braking System (FCM), a Lane Departure Warning System (LDW), and Automatic High Beams (AHB) as standard equipment on all vehicles. Rear Side Traffic Warning System (with Lane Change Assist function) (BSW/LCA), a Reverse Cross Traffic Warning System (RCTA), and Radar Cruise Control are available as manufacturer options on all vehicles.
