On March 10, 2023 , Mitsubishi Motors announced its new mid-term management plan, “Challenge 2025.” Under this plan, the company plans to launch a total of 16 new models (including nine electric vehicles) over the next five years, and will aggressively introduce new models. 2026 is said to be a year to watch, as the company will revive the Pajero.

Mitsubishi may launch a new compact SUV, the Ex-Force, in Japan around 2026. The model made its world debut on August 10, 2023, by Mitsubishi Indonesia, and is produced at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia. Sales will begin in Indonesia, followed by other ASEAN countries such as Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. While no announcement has been made about whether the vehicle will be introduced in Japan, the Ex-Force could be a replacement for the RVR, a model in the same class, which is scheduled to end production in Japan in April 2024 .

Mitsubishi plans to fully redesign the new Lancer Evolution and begin sales in 2026. The “e-EVOLUTION CONCEPT” was unveiled at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, which will be held from November 26 to December 9, 2018. Trevor Mann, Mitsubishi Motors’ Chief Operating Officer (CCO) for domestic sales, announced that a successor model to the Lancer Evolution will be released six years from now in 2023, and further revealed the possibility that it will be a crossover instead of a sedan.
