Lexus is expected to release the electric vehicles “ES350e” and “ES500e,” based on the new ES series, around 2025. On April 25, 2024, the company applied for trademark registration of “ES350e” and “ES500e” with the Japan Patent Office ( Trademark Application No. 2024-044688 ) ( Trademark Application No. 2024-044689 ).
This page has been predicting a full model change for the ES for some time , and now it’s becoming a reality.
Lexus’ first electric sedan, the new ES350e and ES500e
This marks the first electric sedan from the Toyota and Lexus brands.
These models, with the “e” in their model numbers, “ES350e” and “ES500e,” are expected to be sold as BEV (battery electric vehicle) sedans, similar to Lexus’ other electric vehicle models, the “UX300e” and “RZ450e.”
However, it is unlikely that we can predict the power unit to be used as the figures are not the same as those for the electric cars currently announced.
In fact, Lexus has already trademarked the models of many electric vehicle models, and overseas the HZ series “HZ300e,” “HZ450e,” and “HZ550e” and the TZ series “TZ550e” and “TZ450e” have also been confirmed, but all of them have different numbers.

Toyota introduced a number of models at a briefing on BEVs (battery electric vehicles) held in 2019. Furthermore, at its financial results briefing for the fiscal year ending March 2024 held on May 8, 2024, the company stated that it would not change its multi-pathway strategy as an effort to become carbon neutral, and mentioned BEVs along with HEVs (hybrid electric vehicles) and PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles). Sales of BEVs are expected to increase this fiscal year, and future sales plans suggest that many models will be introduced between this and next fiscal year.
