[December 2024] New Civic Delivery Information: How long until delivery?

This time, we looked into the delivery times for the new Civic as of December 2024. When will the delivery time be? Many people are probably wondering. The new Civic, which underwent a minor change in September 2024, is a popular model that combines a sporty design, driving performance, and environmental friendliness, so delivery times are a concern. In this article, we’ll provide the latest delivery information, as well as tips on shortening delivery times and the process leading up to delivery.

The Civic, Honda’s signature sports compact car, underwent a full model change to its 11th generation in 2021, and continues to enjoy great popularity with its refined design and sporty driving performance.

However, due to factors such as the global semiconductor shortage and delays in parts supply, delivery times for new cars are becoming longer, and the Civic is no exception.

“I’m thinking about buying a Civic, but how long will it take to be delivered?”

“What can I do to get it delivered as quickly as possible?”

If you have such questions, this article will provide detailed information on delivery times for the new Civic as of December 2024, including estimated delivery times for each grade, including the Type R, and tips on how to speed up delivery.

Delivery period is approximately 1 to 3 months

What is the current delivery time for the new Civic?

Civic e:HEV

The e:HEV is a hybrid model that combines powerful acceleration with excellent fuel economy. It is a popular grade for users who want both sporty driving and environmental friendliness.

The delivery time for the e:HEV is relatively short, at around one to three months .

Civic gasoline car

The gasoline-powered model, equipped with a 1.5L VTEC TURBO engine, combines nimble driving with excellent fuel economy. As an entry-level Civic model, it has gained support from a wide range of customers.

The delivery time for gasoline vehicles is even shorter, at around one month .

Civic Type R

The Civic Type R is a sports model that reigns supreme. Combining serious performance for circuit driving with comfort for everyday use, it is truly worthy of being called the “ultimate Civic.”

Due to its popularity, the Type R’s delivery times have been extended, and orders are still suspended . Those who placed dealer orders immediately after the July 2022 announcement will likely begin receiving their cars around October 2023, while those who placed orders after the September release will likely begin receiving theirs around March 2024. However, the average delivery time is still extremely long, at around one and a half years .

Honda would not want to keep customers who have placed orders waiting, but there is no indication of when orders will resume.

Any tips for shortening delivery times?

“I want to drive my Civic as soon as possible!” If you want to speed up the delivery of your new Civic, please refer to the points below.

  • Avoid popular grades and options Popular grades and options tend to have longer delivery times because they are produced in limited numbers. If delivery time is a priority, one option is to avoid popular grades and options and look for in-stock or canceled cars.
  • Depending on the dealership you consult with , they may have vehicles available with quick delivery times. They may also offer various suggestions to shorten delivery times, so be sure to consult with them.
  • Information on delivery dates for the new Civic changes daily. Be sure to check dealers and official websites regularly to stay up to date with the latest information.
  1. Choose a vehicle in stock

If the vehicle is in stock at the dealer, the delivery time can be significantly shortened. Be sure to check with the dealer frequently to see if they have the vehicle of the grade and color you want in stock.

  1. Choose unpopular colors and options

Popular colors and options tend to be produced in large quantities and delivery times are often delayed. If delivery time is a priority, choosing less popular colors and options is one option.

  1. Wait for the cancelled car to leave

If a cancellation occurs for some reason, the vehicle may be sold. One way to speed up delivery is to wait for a canceled vehicle to be sold. However, since it is not known when a canceled vehicle will be sold, this is not a guaranteed method.

  1. Contact multiple dealers

Stock availability and delivery times vary depending on the dealer, so we recommend contacting multiple dealers and purchasing from the dealer with the shortest delivery time.

  1. Build a good relationship with your dealer

By building a good relationship with your dealer, you may be able to get the latest information on delivery times and be the first to know if any cars are canceled.

Important points regarding delivery times for the Civic

It is important to understand that the delivery times for your Civic are only estimates and that the actual delivery time may vary depending on the situation .

Also, please note that depending on the grade, options, and body color, delivery may be significantly delayed .

If you’re considering buying a Civic, be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to contact a dealer and check the latest information.

A word about the new Civic delivery information

As of April 2024, delivery times for the standard Civic model have improved significantly and become more stable. We hope this information will be helpful for anyone considering purchasing a new car.

About the new Civic full model change

Only the Civic Hatchback and Civic Type R body styles will be introduced in Japan. Honda has completely redesigned the new Civic, announcing the 11th-generation 2022 model in the US. The US model was announced on April 28, 2021 (local time) and released on June 16, 2021. The Japanese model was unveiled on June 24, 2021, and announced on August 5, 2021, for a September 3, 2021 release date.

New Civic Fully Redesigned Exterior

Based on Honda’s unique M・M philosophy, the new car achieves a lower and wider stance, pursuing a more refined and premium design than previous models. Starting with the low overall height and low hip point of the 10th-generation model, the new car adopts a new “thin and light” design ethos, including a low hood, front fenders, and a low, horizontal beltline.

Strategic use of high-tensile steel and aluminum has resulted in an 8% increase in torsional rigidity and a 13% increase in bending rigidity, resulting in improved ride comfort, handling, and safety. MacPherson struts up front, with low-friction ball joints and front damper mount bearings, improve steering feel. Meanwhile, larger compliance bushings minimize harsh road surfaces, and the two rear lower arms also feature new bushings to reduce cabin vibration and improve straight-line stability.

The body size is 4,550mm in length (+30mm), 1,800mm in width (0mm), 1,415mm in height (0mm), and 2,735mm in wheelbase (+35mm).

New Civic Fully Redesigned Interior

The interior is designed with horizontal and linear themes, and based on the concept of HMI (Human Machine Interface), it reduces eye movement and places controls along the flow of traffic to improve visibility. In order to provide a refreshing view from all seats, a “sleek and long cabin” with a solid form that gives it a solid “solid feel” has been adopted. In addition, the upper part of the dashboard has been designed to minimize cut lines to prevent reflections on the windshield. Furthermore, the mirrors have been positioned away from the A-pillars to improve visibility.

The meter uses a new “10.2-inch instrument cluster,” and the center display is equipped with a “9-inch Honda CONNECT Honda Display.” This system is compatible with “Apple CarPlay” and “Android Auto,” and also features “Honda CONNECT,” an in-vehicle communication module exclusive to Honda vehicles. In addition, to provide high-quality sound, a “12-speaker BOSE audio system” is used, and it is also equipped with an “auto brake hold” function and a “parking brake system.”

New Civic full model change safety features

The Honda Sensing suite improves the system with new cameras that provide a wider field of view than before. Additionally, working in conjunction with better software, the system can recognize more vehicles and identify pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles more quickly. Adaptive cruise control has also been improved, providing a more natural braking feel and quicker response. This allows for more natural driving while still staying in your lane.

Additionally, world-first designs have been unveiled for airbags that reduce brain injury by better controlling head movement in certain types of crashes: a doughnut-shaped driver airbag that cradles the head in an accident, and a similarly opening, book-shaped, three-sided passenger airbag.
