The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has released the results of its verification of compliance with standards for Daihatsu’s “Taft” and three Toyota-Daihatsu “Copen” models. The order to suspend shipments will be lifted on March 29, 2024.

Daihatsu Motor announced on March 29, 2024, that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism had confirmed through witness testing and other tests that the Daihatsu Taft and Toyota-Daihatsu Copen models comply with the standards of the Road Transport Vehicle Act, and that the order to suspend shipments would be lifted. Going forward, the company will be in close communication with dealerships and related suppliers as it prepares to resume shipments and production to avoid any confusion.
