This time, we have compiled a list of Daihatsu models whose shipment suspension orders have been lifted as of March 2024. After the fraud, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism confirmed that the vehicles comply with the standards of the Road Transport Vehicle Act through on-site testing, and the number of models for which shipment suspension orders have been lifted is gradually increasing.
*Please note that shipments will not resume immediately once the suspension is lifted. We will be working closely with the relevant companies to avoid any confusion, so shipments will not be able to start immediately.
Daihatsu temporarily suspends shipments of all models
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. announced the results of its investigation into certification application irregularities on December 20, 2023. The investigation revealed 174 additional irregularities across 25 test items, in addition to the door trim irregularities in April and the pole side impact test irregularities in May. In response to the investigation’s findings, Daihatsu decided to temporarily suspend shipments of all Daihatsu-developed vehicles currently in production. The number of vehicles for which irregularities were confirmed includes 64 models and three engines (a total of models in production, development, and discontinued models), including those already discontinued. This includes Daihatsu-branded vehicles as well as models supplied to Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota), Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda), and Subaru Corporation (Subaru). Toyota will also temporarily suspend shipments of the affected vehicles.
