Honda 0 Series: A fusion of design and functionality

The 0 Saloon is a sporty yet elegant sedan characterized by its low-slung, wedge-shaped silhouette. Although the gullwing doors have disappeared, the new front end gives it a powerful impression reminiscent of the Lamborghini Gallardo. Futuristic elements such as sliding headlamp covers and a windscreen with an illuminated blade at the bottom are also scattered throughout.

Meanwhile, the Honda 0 SUV is based on last year’s Space Hub minivan concept and adopts a more realistic crossover silhouette. Its steeply raked windshield, pixelated headlights, and illuminated Honda emblem give it a distinctive look. While its upright rear may be a matter of personal taste, the two-tone black roof and thick D-pillars give it a stylish look.

The interior of both models is designed to be a space that pursues advanced technology and comfort. The futuristic cockpit is eye-catching, with a screen that spans the entire dashboard and a Tesla-like yoke steering wheel. It also comes with a host of advanced features, such as side camera monitors that replace traditional mirrors and ambient LED strips.

Honda 0 Series: A wealth of innovative technologies

The 0 Series is packed with Honda’s latest technologies, including a new steer-by-wire system that integrates steering, suspension, and braking, a compact and lightweight battery pack jointly developed with Sony, and Honda’s proprietary AI technology, ASIMO OS.

ASIMO OS, named after Honda’s humanoid robot ASIMO, is the vehicle’s brain operating system. It integrates driver assistance, infotainment, over-the-air updates, and more, learning the driver’s preferences to provide a personalized driving experience.

In terms of autonomous driving technology, the 0 Series is equipped with Level 3 autonomous driving functionality, allowing the driver to “take their eyes off” under certain conditions, such as when stuck in traffic on the highway. Through joint development with Helm.ai, advanced situational awareness capabilities are realized through AI, enabling safe and comfortable autonomous driving.

Furthermore, by adopting a high-performance SoC (System on a Chip) jointly developed with Renesas Electronics, the car achieves both advanced AI processing capabilities and power efficiency, which not only improves the performance of autonomous driving and driver assistance systems, but also enables the efficient execution of various functions such as controlling comfort features and energy management.

Honda 0 Series: Energy services for the future

As EVs become more widespread, Honda is also focusing on developing charging infrastructure and providing energy services. In North America, through IONNA, a joint venture between eight automakers, the company plans to build a high-quality charging network with 30,000 outlets by 2030. In addition, the charging ports on the 0 Series will adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS), enabling users to access a wider range of charging stations.

In addition, we plan to offer services to make EV life more comfortable, such as a charging recommendation service that utilizes Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) generative AI “Amazon Bedrock,” and the “Home Energy Management System” jointly developed with EmporiaCorp.

The Home Energy Management System optimizes household power usage, contributing to reduced electricity bills and CO2 emissions. By using EVs as virtual power plants, it also contributes to stabilizing the power grid.

Honda 0 Series: Hopes for the future

Through the 0 Series, Honda aims to provide EVs that are not just a means of transportation, but also a partner that enriches people’s lives. By combining advanced technology with innovative services, Honda will also contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

The 0 Series prototype unveiled at CES 2025 will be an important milestone in Honda’s electrification strategy. We can’t help but look forward to seeing it evolve even further and offer new mobility experiences to users around the world.
