On April 4, 2024, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) and the All Japan Light Motor Vehicle Association (AJMCA) announced the latest figures for passenger car sales by model and light four-wheel vehicle sales by common name for March 2024. The number one light vehicle was the N-BOX, with 20,360 units sold. This is the second month in a row that Daihatsu cars have fallen outside the top 10.
Passenger car ranking
Among passenger cars, the Toyota Corolla took the lead with 18,831 units sold. In second place was the Toyota Yaris with 17,677 units, and in third place was the Nissan Note with 12,731 units sold. The top four cars all sold over 10,000 units.

Light car ranking
In the minicar category, the Honda N-BOX took the top spot with 20,360 units sold. In second place was the Suzuki Spacia with 17,869 units sold, and in third place was the Suzuki Hustler with 10,618 units sold . While a regular in the minicar rankings , Daihatsu was removed from the top 10 due to the suspension of sales following a fraud scandal . Incidentally, in 12th place was the Daihatsu Mira with 3,060 units sold.
