Volkswagen unveiled the new battery EV “ID.7 Tourer” for the first time in the world on February 19, 2024 (local time). The ID.7 Tourer is scheduled to be sold in the European market. Detailed specifications and prices will be announced in the future.
About the new Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer
This wagon version of VW’s existing ID.7 sedan offers ample cargo space and driving range for road trips. It features a stylish shooting brake design and a large battery pack . While it will not be sold in North America, the battery will also be installed in the ID.7 sedan, which will be sold globally later this year.








About the interior of the new Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer
The ID.7 Tourer features a similar interior to the ID.7 Sedan . It features a small digital instrument pack and a 15-inch tablet touchscreen located in the center of the dashboard. It also integrates the new ChatGPT AI technology, an improved IDA voice assistant, and a head-up display that displays navigation instructions with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.





The ID.7 Tourer has a spacious luggage compartment that only a wagon body can offer. With a maximum load capacity of 1,714 liters, both passengers and luggage can enjoy a relaxing trip.

The ID.7 Tourer has a larger luggage compartment than the ID.7 Sedan.

The ID.7 Tourer’s boot space is 35 litres larger than the BMW i5. The ID.7 Tourer is available with optional trays and dividers to keep luggage in place.
About the driving assistance system of the new Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer
To make long-distance journeys less stressful, the ID.7 also gets a further developed driver assistance system, Travel Assist, which uses swarm data to provide lane-change assistance on multi-lane highways at speeds above 90 km/h. It ‘s a semi-autonomous driving system that combines lane centering and adaptive cruise control . That’s a short sale, though, as the system uses cameras and navigation data to detect speed limits and adjusts accordingly. The system also provides lane-change assistance.
Volkswagen’s new ID.7 Tourer specifications
The new ID.7 Tourer is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum output of 282 hp (210 kW/286 PS) and approximately 406 lb-ft (550 Nm), driving the rear wheels. The ID.7 Tourer is available with an 86 kWh battery, in addition to the 77 kWh battery installed in the conventional ID.7 . This battery, installed in the ID.7 Pro model, achieves a maximum range of 685 km in WLTP mode . The ID.7 Sedan with a 77 kWh battery boasts a range of 616 km.
The ID.7 Tourer has a larger battery and supports 200kW charging for faster charging. The ID.7 supports 175kW charging. Charging time from 10% to 80% is approximately 30 minutes for the ID.7 Tourer and approximately 28 minutes for the ID.7. A more powerful bi-motor AWD model will be released in the future.
