Sony Honda Mobility unveils updated prototype of new “Afila” at CES 2024, featuring “Microsoft Azure OpenAI”

Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), a joint venture between Sony and Honda, unveiled an evolved version of the AFEELA sedan at CES 2024, the world’s largest technology trade show, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 9th to 12th, 2024. Pre-orders for the AFEELA will begin in the first half of 2025, with the car scheduled for release in 2025. Deliveries will begin in North America in the spring of 2026.

The prototype features thicker pillars and traditional side mirrors, with styling changes continuing further down the line. A new rear bumper, revised trunk, and updated taillights have also been spotted. In addition to the styling tweaks, the car’s dimensions have also grown, now measuring 4,915mm long, 1,900mm wide, 1,460mm high, and with a 3,000mm wheelbase.

The vehicle is equipped with a “Media Bar” that allows intelligent mobility to communicate with people through light, enabling interactive communication between mobility and people. Going forward, the company will explore a wide range of possibilities together with various partners and creators. The front suspension uses double wishbones and the rear uses multi-links, and the vehicle is fitted with 21-inch aluminum wheels, with 245/40R21 tires in the front and 275/35R21 in the rear.
