On November 13, 2024, Porsche Japan added two new models to its electric vehicle (EV) line, the Taycan: the Taycan 4 and the Taycan GTS, and began accepting pre-orders.
The Taycan, which debuted in 2019, ushered in a new era as Porsche’s first mass-produced EV. Its name comes from the “lively young horse” depicted on the Porsche emblem, and it truly embodies the power of electricity.
A major minor change was made in February 2024 , achieving a sharper design, higher power output, longer driving distances, and superior charging performance. With the addition of the new Taycan 4 and Taycan GTS, a full family of 11 versions has been completed, including two body variations (saloon and Cross Turismo), 4WD and rear-wheel drive, and Porsche E-Performance motors with a wide range of output levels from 300kW to 760kW.

The new Taycan GTS delivers the ultimate in driving pleasure

2025 Porsche Taycan GTS
The new Taycan GTS is a model for drivers who pursue sporty performance. Its power output has increased significantly from 598 horsepower before the major minor change to 700 horsepower. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time has improved from 3.7 seconds to 3.3 seconds, realizing a more dynamic driving experience. The 0-200 km/h acceleration time has been reduced by 1.6 seconds to 10.4 seconds, boasting overwhelming acceleration performance.
Additionally, the new “Push to Pass” function, available with the Sport Chrono Package, allows up to 70 kW of boost to be activated for 10 seconds at the touch of a button. Torque is increased to Launch Control levels even at low speeds, and just like in the Taycan Turbo GT, the boost is dynamically enhanced with a countdown timer on the instrument cluster and an animated ring in the speedometer.
The GTS’s distinctive sound is also a defining feature, similar to that of the Taycan Turbo S, providing an exhilarating driving experience despite being an electric car.
The exterior features black and anthracite gray details that emphasize the sportiness of the GTS. The newly adopted sport design front and rear aprons with black (high gloss) inlays create a bold impression. The Taycan Turbo S Aero Design wheels, painted in anthracite gray exclusively for the GTS, are standard equipment, with 21-inch RS Sport Design wheels available as an option.

The GTS-specific chassis and optional rear-axle steering ensure even sportier handling. The adaptive air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) is standard, and the optional Porsche Active Ride Suspension Control system ensures perfect contact with the road, even under dynamic driving conditions.

The new Taycan 4 is the entry-level model in the Taycan series, and following on from the Cross Turismo, a 4WD sedan has also been introduced. It is possible to choose between the standard Performance Battery or the optional Performance Battery Plus, which delivers up to 300kW or 320kW of overboost output when using launch control.
The range is up to 559 km with the Performance battery and up to 643 km with the Performance Plus battery (both WLTP), providing ample range for a 4WD model.
With one electric motor on the front axle and one on the rear axle, the Taycan 4 offers improved driving stability and traction compared to the rear-wheel drive Taycan, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the rear-wheel drive model.

The interior is luxurious, with front comfort seats (with 8-way electric adjustment), black partial leather trim, a dark silver accent package, a leather multi-function sports steering wheel, etc. The partial leather interior is available in slate gray as well as a two-tone version of black/chalk beige.

Improved performance and efficiency
The new Taycan 4 and Taycan GTS deliver even greater performance and efficiency thanks to a wide range of improvements, including a new rear axle motor that delivers up to 80 kW more power than the previous model, an improved pulse inverter with optimized software, a more powerful battery, improved thermal management, a next-generation heat pump, and improved recuperation and all-wheel drive strategies.
Acceleration and charging times have been reduced, stability has been improved, and maximum regeneration performance when decelerating from high speeds has been increased to 400kW, extending the driving range.
Latest generation Porsche Driver Experience

A mode switch is standard on the steering wheel, while vehicles equipped with the Sport Chrono Package and Performance Battery Plus feature a “Push-to-Pass” button that temporarily boosts power output.
Expanded body color and steering wheel position options
New exterior colors are available for all Taycan models: Slate Gray Neo and Pale Blue Metallic have been added to the Legend category, and Purple Sky Metallic has been added to the Dream category, expanding the options for expressing individuality.
