Nissan has released a teaser image of the new Patrol for the Middle East market, teasing the debut of a large SUV. The company plans to reveal some of the new model every Thursday leading up to the official launch on September 4th. This new Patrol is also expected to appear as the new-generation Armada for the US market. While it is not scheduled to appear as the Japanese model Safari, we can expect it to appear as a rival to Toyota’s Land Cruiser 300.

The new Patrol will also be switching from the previous V8 to a more efficient V6, possibly the same 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine found in the Infiniti QX80 . Nissan is confident that this new engine will “outperform” the previous model in terms of performance and acceleration.
The new Infiniti QX80 is equipped with a 3.5L twin-turbo engine that produces 450hp (336kW/456PS) and 515lb-ft of torque . Its biggest rivals, the LX600 and Land Cruiser 300 , are equipped with 3.5L V6 gasoline engines with a maximum output of 305kW (415PS), so the QX80 has better engine specs.

About the Nissan Patrol
The current Patrol model (Y62) was released in 2010 and was improved in 2014 and 2019. The new model will compete against the Toyota Land Cruiser J300. Nissan’s Global Product Strategy and Planning Officer, Ivan Espinosa, has stated that the new Patrol will “far surpass” the Land Cruiser, so future announcements are expected to be closely watched.
