In the US, both the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S versions come standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The MINI Cooper S has 201 hp and 221 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. Specifications for the MINI Cooper were not announced. Other than stating that the car is “equipped with a suspension and damping system designed for agile handling,” few other details were revealed about the updated model’s other key mechanical components. The new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S also feature “powerful brakes,” although specifications for these brakes have not been released. The transmission used has not been specified, but it is known that there will be no manual option.

The most obvious change to the exterior is the fitment of two slightly larger front grilles. It features the same headlights with circular LED daytime running lights, and the rear has the familiar triangular matrix taillights. The interior, like the MINI Cooper EV , features fewer buttons, woven surfaces, and the latest technology, making everything appear simpler than in previous Minis. It features digital gauges and a larger infotainment system, with a circular OLED touchscreen as the dashboard’s centerpiece. The central display is a 9.4-inch circular OLED screen that doubles as the infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. It runs on the Android-based MINI Operating System 9 and employs the latest AI technologies. It integrates an AI-based virtual assistant called Spike. It offers the latest powertrains and an all-electric version instead of a plug-in hybrid. An optional head-up display is available. The center console features a toggle bar with five switches dedicated to the most important functions (parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, experience mode selector, and volume knob), while the climate control is integrated into the touchscreen.
