BMW Group’s MINI has released prototype images of the new MINI Aceman crossover EV and announced that it has completed testing under extreme conditions. The new model is scheduled to be unveiled at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition (Auto Beijing 2024), China’s largest automobile exhibition, which will be held in China from April 25 to May 4, 2024.
About the new EV “MINI Aceman”
The MINI Aceman has already successfully completed testing in the Arctic Circle, and the crossover model is now completing its final tests in the intense sun and heat of the desert. The tests also focus on the demanding aspects of electric vehicles, with air conditioning, battery charging and cooling, drive and control devices being intensively tested in dusty desert sand at temperatures of up to 50°C. The lightly camouflaged prototype of the all-electric crossover is nearly ready for public roads, and with a length of 4,075mm, width of 1,754mm and height of 1,495mm, it is expected to fill the gap between the MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman SUVs.

Unlike the rest of the Mini lineup, which offers both ICE and BEV powertrain options, the MINI Aceman will only be available in all-electric form. The battery capacity will be 54.2 kWh, the same as the MINI Cooper SE . Like the MINI Cooper SE , it will likely feature a single electric motor producing 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS), powering the front axle.
