Isuzu will make the world premiere of its first one-ton pickup truck, the D-MAX battery electric vehicle (BEV), as a concept exhibit at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2024, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from Wednesday, March 27th to Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024. Sales will begin in parts of Europe, including Norway, in 2025, and will be rolled out and expanded to other areas, such as the UK, Australia, and Thailand, in line with local needs, taking into account how cars are used and the state of infrastructure development in each country and region.
Isuzu’s first BEV pickup truck, the D-MAX
Isuzu’s D-MAX BEV has been developed to meet a wide range of commercial and passenger needs while maintaining the tough basic performance of a pickup truck. The full-time 4WD system, equipped with newly developed e-axles at the front and rear, combines high off-road performance with the linear acceleration characteristic of a BEV, along with low noise and vibration. In addition, the adoption of a high-output electric motor allows it to be used in the same way as existing diesel engine models, and the robust frame and body design ensures high towing capacity. Isuzu is developing the D-MAX BEV as one of the power source options, keeping in mind that pickup trucks are used for a wide variety of purposes by customers.
