A 19-speaker AKG audio system is used, with emphasis placed on comfort and efficiency in cold climates. Other features include a wiper heater that melts ice quickly, allowing the wipers to be used, a heat pump system that utilizes excess heat from the battery system to warm the interior, and seat heaters.
The new LYRIQ employs a newly developed road noise cancellation system that uses more microphones and accelerometers than previous systems. The new system also cancels tire cavity noise frequencies, making electric vehicles quieter.

The roof is equipped with a glass roof with an electric sunshade, which boasts class-leading spaciousness, enhancing the feeling of openness. The luggage space with an electric tailgate is 793 liters under normal conditions, and can be increased to a maximum of 1,722 liters by folding down the rear seats.

The vehicle warning system, which alerts pedestrians and cyclists of approaching vehicles when traveling at speeds below 20 km/h, delivers a unique, rich, and pleasant warning sound that is rich with human resonance. The sound combines a long tone designed to resonate emotionally with the perfect fifth and the sound of the ancient Australian instrument, the didgeridoo. Combined with the Side Bicycle Alert, a first for Cadillac, the system also ensures safety for those around you.
Cadillac’s new Lyric: New powertrain and range
The new LYRIQ is equipped with a next-generation electric vehicle powertrain. The system’s combined maximum output from two motors, front and rear, is 384kW (approximately 522PS) and maximum torque is 610Nm. The battery is a newly developed “Ultium” system, which uses 70% less rare earth materials, such as cobalt.
By incorporating the battery electronics directly into the module, the wiring of the battery pack has been reduced by 90%, increasing efficiency. With a maximum battery capacity of 95.7 kWh, the AWD model introduced in Japan has a driving range of 510 km.
The front-to-rear weight distribution is also ideal at 50:50, and the car is equipped with four drive modes (Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, My Mode). The regenerative braking allows for one-pedal driving, where you can accelerate and stop using only the accelerator pedal, and the braking strength can be selected from three levels. Regenerative braking can also be controlled using the steering paddles, all the way to a complete stop.
The high-performance overseas model “Lyric-V”


Cadillac Lyriq V
Overseas, Cadillac has announced the Lyriq-V, a model in the company’s high-performance V series. The Lyriq-V boasts an increased powertrain output of 624 hp, achieving high performance with a 0-96 km/h acceleration time of 3.3 seconds.
It is equipped with launch control and “V mode” that allows customization of vehicle settings, and the brakes are equipped with a Brembo brake system with 390mm discs that are 71mm larger than the standard model, allowing for stable, high driving performance.
Cadillac Lyric price and release date
The Japanese price for the new Lyriq has been set at 11 million yen, which is close to the 10.8 million yen price of the high-end SUV “XT6” equipped with an internal combustion engine, and is significantly lower than the flagship SUV “Escalade” which starts at 16.4 million yen.
Orders for the new Lyriq began in the US in September 2021 and were released in May 2022. In Japan, a newly produced right-hand drive version will be introduced, announced on March 7, 2025, and released on March 8.
