About the new BMW “X3” full model change

BMW’s latest platform, the Neue Klasse, is set to revolutionize the brand’s electric lineup from 2025 onward, though not all models will move to the platform. BMW will offer two different X3s. One is the electric iX3, which will ride on the Neue Klasse platform. The internal combustion engine version will ride on an updated version of the current CLAR platform with a longer wheelbase. The X3 will be slightly larger than the newly enlarged X1 . Design-wise, the X1 and X3 are very similar, with both featuring the same flush door handles, a window line that rises beyond the C-pillars, a hood that wraps around the top of the front fenders, a square kidney grille, and larger front fenders.

The design of the 2025 BMW X3 is similar to that of the current X1, but with some differences. The X3’s DRLs are curved below the main LED light unit. The X3’s rear lights are Y-shaped, making them more distinctive than the X1’s.

All versions are expected to be equipped with mild hybrid or PHEV powertrains, with the X3 performance model being offered with a six-cylinder drivetrain, known as the X3 M Performance Version M50i.

Exterior

The front and rear designs have evolved to be more masculine. At the front, BMW’s distinctive kidney grille has been redesigned to have a one-piece structure, giving it a more powerful impression, while the front bumper has excellent aerodynamic properties and incorporates the latest headlight design. At the rear, a newly designed rear bumper has been adopted.

Perforated Sensatec sports seats come as standard, and the BMW Live Cockpit, which incorporates a navigation system, features a 12.3-inch information display with touch panel functionality and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. The BMW Operating System 7.0 is used. By saying “Okay, BMW,” you can operate the vehicle, set destinations, etc. Convenience is greatly enhanced, with support for Apple CarPlay, BMW ConnectedDrive as standard, and the ability to send destinations previously searched on a smartphone to the vehicle.

Safety features and driving assistance systems

The BMW X3 has evolved into the latest generation. Like other mid-range and higher-class BMW models, it comes standard with a high-performance triple camera and radar, as well as cutting-edge driver assistance systems with high analytical capabilities thanks to a high-performance processor.

Hands-off traffic jam driving assistance function

It is equipped with a hands-off function, which BMW introduced for the first time in a domestically approved model. The “Traffic Jam Driving Assist with Hands-Off Function” is a driving assistance system that reduces the driver’s burden and contributes to safety when driving in traffic jams on highways. This function allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel as long as they are constantly paying attention to the road ahead and are able to immediately and reliably operate the steering wheel according to the surrounding road traffic and vehicle conditions.
