Honda’s Acura announced an improved model of its new flagship SUV, the MDX, on April 9, 2024 (local time). This time, it will be equipped with features such as Google Built-in.

About the exterior of the new Acura MDX 2025 model
The exterior gets a sportier front bumper with a revised grille, headlights, taillights, and air intakes. New exterior colors include Canyon River Blue Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl. Additional changes are available on higher-end models, with new 20-inch wheels on models equipped with the Technology Package. The package also includes “extensive refinement updates for a quieter cabin,” including additional insulation and laminated glass in the rear doors.
About the interior of the new 2025 Acura MDX
The new car features a new 12.3-inch touchscreen display , improved through Honda’s partnership with Google. For seamless connectivity on the go, you can use the integrated Google Built-in. Unlike Android Auto, the car’s Android-based navigation system can be used without connecting your smartphone. You can use Google Maps or other map apps by downloading them. The latest generation of AcuraLink is also included, offering connectivity features such as a Wi-Fi hotspot, over-the-air updates, remote lock/unlock, and remote start.
The touchscreen eliminates the “True Touchpad Interface,” while the revised center console offers a cleaner design, more storage space, and a more accessible wireless smartphone charger. The entry-level unit now has two additional speakers, and the 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system now has up to seven more speakers than the previous model.
The 2025 MDX offers a new A-Spec variant with the Advance Package, which combines sporty exterior styling with a luxurious interior featuring quilted leather massaging front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and more.
About the new Acura MDX Type S 2025 model
The high-performance MDX Type S is distinguished from the standard model by a frameless diamond pentagon grille and a more aggressive front bumper with gloss black accents. New 21-inch wheels feature a two-tone finish.
Inside, the car gets redesigned front seats with Ultrasuede bolsters and Type S logos on the headrests, a new 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, and the previously optional Advance Package.
Safety features for the new 2025 Acura MDX
The 2025 MDX features a new camera and millimeter-wave radar system for improved detection and a wider field of view. It also features better blind-spot sensors and a new lane-change alert feature. It also includes a new rear seatbelt reminder system and adaptive cruise control with cornering speed assist, all part of the AcuraWatch™ suite.
The Type S builds on the standard model’s safety improvements with improved long-range millimeter-wave radar, an upgraded front camera, and new millimeter-wave radar sensors at all four corners . These changes mean the crossover now comes equipped with active lane change assist, lane change collision mitigation, and front cross-traffic warning. Acura also says drivers can expect smoother adaptive cruise control response and improved detection capabilities. It also features AcuraWatch™ 360 driver assistance technology.
About the new Acura MDX 2025 model powertrain
The MDX Type S comes with a turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine producing 355 hp (265 kW/360 PS) and 354 lb-ft (479 Nm) of torque, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive (the brand’s Super Handling all-wheel drive system). The standard model comes with a 3.5L V6 engine producing 290 hp (216 kW/294 PS) and 267 lb-ft (362 Nm) of torque, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
