Vehicles eligible for entry into the World Car of the Year must be produced in excess of 10,000 units per year, be sold in major markets at a price below luxury car levels, and be “launched” in at least two major markets (China, Europe, India, Japan, South Korea, Latin America, and the United States) and at least two other continents between January 1, 2023, and March 30, 2024. In 2009, the organization changed its name to the “World Car Awards.”
