What is the trend in Toyota Vellfire sales and production numbers? How many units were sold over the past two years? Toyota’s new Vellfire (40 series) underwent a full model change on June 21, 2023. It has gained popularity as a synonym for luxury minivans, but how many units have been sold and produced?

Reasons for longer delivery times

The reasons for the longer delivery times for the new Vellfire include challenges facing the entire automotive industry, such as a global shortage of semiconductors and delays in parts supply , as well as the Vellfire’s high popularity .

Delivery times tend to be longer especially if you select a higher grade or optional equipment.

Tips for faster delivery

For those who want to get their hands on the new Vellfire as soon as possible, here are some tips to speed up the delivery time.

1. Order as soon as possible

The new Vellfire is a popular model, so orders are flooding in. If you want to receive your car as soon as possible, it is important to order as early as possible .

2. Choose a less popular option

Higher grades and popular options take longer to produce, so delivery times tend to be longer. If delivery time is a priority, consider choosing less popular grades and options.

3. Search for cancelled or in-stock vehicles

Some dealerships may have cancelled or in-stock vehicles. These vehicles may be delivered earlier than regular orders . Please check with the dealership frequently.

4. Contact multiple retailers

Each dealer has a different number of vehicles allocated to them, so delivery times will vary. It’s best to contact multiple dealers and choose the one with the shortest delivery time.

5. Narrow down your dealer options

Many dealer options can be installed after delivery. If you have items that are not necessary at the time of delivery installed later , you may be able to shorten the delivery time.

Flow until delivery

Delivery : Pick up your vehicle at the dealership.

Get a quote and negotiate at the dealer : Decide on the grade and options you are interested in and get a quote.

Ordering and contract : Decide on the vehicle specifications, payment method, etc., and then enter into a contract.

Production and waiting for delivery : Production has begun at the factory and the vehicle is waiting to be delivered.

Toyota New Vellfire: What options would you like to add to increase resale value?

Toyota Teammate Advanced Park + Parking Brake Support

It is standard equipment on the Executive Lounge and Z Premier models. The new Vellfire also comes standard with the next-generation Toyota Safety Sense . This alone is great as it has many features, but even though the car already has a full range of safety equipment (it’s a manufacturer option on the Z), it’s definitely worth adding it.

Advanced Park

After stopping next to the desired parking space, press the Advanced Park switch to confirm the parking position. Then, when you press the Start switch, the system will monitor the surroundings and assist with steering, acceleration, and braking to complete the parking operation (shift operation is manual).

Advanced Park (with remote function) Hybrid vehicle

Hybrid cars are available exclusively, and by operating a dedicated smartphone app from outside the car, you can park and exit remotely. If you want to do this, then a hybrid car is definitely the way to go.

Parking Support Brake (Stationary Objects) [Intelligent Clearance Sonar]

When parking or driving at low speeds, if there is a risk of colliding with a wall or other stationary object, or if the vehicle accelerates suddenly due to accidentally or overly pressing the accelerator pedal, or when starting off by accidentally putting the gear lever in the wrong position, the system will activate if the sensor detects a stationary object moving in front of or behind the vehicle to help mitigate the collision and reduce the damage caused by the collision.

Digital inner mirror

The “Executive Lounge” is standard equipment. It is a manufacturer option for the “Z Premier,” “Z,” and “G.” If you have many passengers in the back seat or a lot of luggage in the trunk, we recommend installing the “Digital Inner Mirror.”

Universal step (both sides)

The “Executive Lounge,” “Z Premier,” “Z,” and “G” models all have a manufacturer option. It’s recommended for those with elderly passengers or small children in the back seat. The downside is that you won’t be able to install a spare tire. While a spare tire may be fine from an export perspective, a universal step is a good idea for the domestic market.

Twin dimming panoramic roof

The seats feature a “super long overhead console” and a “twin dimming panoramic roof .” These are optional features for the “Vellfire” and “Z premium” grades, so we recommend adding them.

About the new Toyota Vellfire

The front seats are equipped with a 12.3 inch large full LCD digital meter , a 14-inch display audio, a T-Connect SD navigation system and a Yamaha premium sound system  (all higher grades), while the rear seat entertainment system uses a 14.1-inch display. A power tailgate (with anti-pinch function)  is available on all higher grade models.

Hands-free sliding doors are available on all higher grades.

Advanced Park (HV has remote function)  provides operation guidance through on-screen displays, voice and buzzer sounds, and assists with backing into a target parking position confirmed on the screen and exiting from parallel parking by operating the steering wheel, shift position, accelerator and brake. In addition, a dedicated smartphone app is available, allowing you to park remotely from outside the vehicle.

While maintaining the same concept as the previous model, the exterior design and front and rear bumper designs have been revised. Following on from its predecessor, the new car features flowing turn signals (sequential turn signals) .” The body size (length 4,995mm, width 1,850mm, height 1,935mm, wheelbase 3,000mm) remains within the standard parking garage limits (length 5,000mm x width 1,850mm or less). The new car builds on the newly developed platform known as ” TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) ,” which was introduced with the new Prius released in December 2015. Engine models feature a 2.5L inline- four direct-injection engine (Dynamic Force Engine) , which achieves a maximum thermal efficiency of over 40%, the same as the new Camry. The hybrid model also uses this engine, and employs a smaller, lighter, “High-Performance Multi-Stage THS II” hybrid system for improved fuel economy. The new Alphard/Vellfire Hybrid uses the same 2AR-FXE 2.5L inline-four DOHC + motor as the Camry Hybrid, achieving a WLTC mode fuel economy of 16.5-17.7km/L. The previous model only had a 4WD (E-Four) hybrid model, but this time, for the first time, a 2WD (FF) model will be available. The 8-seater model has also been discontinued.

Toyota’s new “Vellfire” interior has undergone significant evolution

The front seats feature the latest steering wheel and a shift knob with the latest design, which is the same as the new Prius and Crown. The electric parking brake and hold button is positioned for easy pressing, and the drink holder and the place-to-place charger are also conveniently located. The meter is a large 12.3 -inch full LCD digital meter , a 14-inch display audio, a T-Connect SD navigation system + JBL premium sound system (15 speakers) , and the rear seat entertainment system has a 13.2-inch display (optional). Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are adopted. A DCM in-car communication device is standard equipment. (Standard equipment on the Executive Lounge)

Furthermore, the rear seats feature a “super long overhead console” and “twin dimming panoramic roof,” and “LED roof color illumination” is also used, just like the previous model. The rear seats of the top-grade “Executive Lounge” model are luxuriously equipped with “seat reclining” and “relaxation” functions, as well as “heated seat” ottomans and armrests. In addition, two ” central control touch panels ” are used , allowing intuitive operation of various comfort features such as televisions .

” Universal steps ” are installed on both sides (optional). The third-row seats are flip-up type, but the two-stage mechanism increases the second-row seating range compared to the previous model, increasing the variety of seat arrangements.

The moonroof shade is a separate type that allows customers to simultaneously enjoy the sky or block out the sunlight. The side sunshades are also a descending type, a first for Toyota.

Toyota’s new “Vellfire” specifications

The hybrid system for the 2.5L engine tuned for the new Alphard and Vellfire has been completely redesigned.  The 2.5L THS II achieves superior power performance and fuel economy at a high level through compact, lightweight, and low-loss technologies, combined with the synergy between the high combustion efficiency and high output of the new TNGA-based engine. It delivers high-speed acceleration and a direct feel that completely redefines the hybrid vehicle experience. In addition to improved system efficiency at highway speeds, intermittent engine operation is enabled even at high speeds, improving fuel economy at high speeds. Looking at the specs, fuel economy comparable to that of older compact cars (17.5-17.7km/L) and a maximum system output of 184W (250hp) provide excellent driving performance. When considering resale value, a hybrid is the obvious choice.
