Subaru’s new “SUBARU BRZ” C-type partially improved model
SUBARU will make some improvements to the SUBARU BRZ (Type C) and release it in the fall of 2023. It will also be the first to adopt the EyeSight driving assistance system developed for manual transmission vehicles (MT vehicles).
The EyeSight for manual transmission vehicles adopted in the improved “SUBARU BRZ” model (Japan specification vehicle) is based on the EyeSight for automatic transmission vehicles of the “SUBARU BRZ” and is equipped with pre-crash braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, preceding vehicle departure notification, and clearance sonar with rear sonar warning. EyeSight’s high performance in collision avoidance, collision damage reduction, and driver load reduction has been controlled to suit the characteristics of manual transmission vehicles, achieving stable operation in a wide range of real-world situations, achieving a high level of both driving enjoyment and peace of mind.

A word from the editorial department
The BRZ, along with Toyota’s GR86, has undergone annual improvements and is steadily evolving. The current model has been on the market since 2021, and is now in its third year, but the previous model was on sale from 2012 to 2021, so the current BRZ can still be considered an early model. We look forward to seeing the car continue to evolve with annual improvements in the future.
