Porsche announced the Taycan Turbo GT, a high-performance model of its electric vehicle, the Taycan , on March 11, 2024 (local time). Pre-orders began in Japan on March 12, 2024. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2024. The current Taycan model, on which it is based, underwent a major minor change on February 7, 2024.

Porsche announced that the Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Weissach package recorded a lap time of 1:27.87 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California, USA, earning the title of “fastest production electric vehicle.”

The EV flagship model boasts a maximum power output of 1,092 hp (815 kW / 1,108 PS) and the aerodynamic and chassis upgrades traditional to Porsche GT models . The optional Weissach package replaces the rear seats with a carbon fiber bulkhead to reduce weight and further enhance the two-seater racing car .

The Taycan Turbo GT upgrades the Taycan Turbo S ‘s powertrain . Porsche engineers introduced a new rear motor using silicon carbide semiconductors and a more powerful and efficient pulse inverter . They also increased the transmission ratio and strengthened the gearbox’s durability. The result: maximum power output reaches 777 hp (580 kW/789 PS), rising to 1,019 hp (760 kW/1,033 PS) during launch control. For two seconds, the car delivers an astounding 1,092 hp (815 kW/1,108 PS) . This makes the Taycan Turbo GT the most powerful production Porsche ever, surpassing all other Taycan variants and even the 918 Spyder. Torque also reaches an astounding 988 lb-ft (1,340 Nm) .

Another highlight is Attack Mode, inspired by Formula E racers, which can unleash an additional 160 hp (120 kW / 163 PS) of power for 10 seconds. While the standard Taycan already features a “push to pass” function, Attack Mode offers a more significant boost and can be easily activated and deactivated using the right-hand paddle.

For hardcore enthusiasts, the Weissach Package maximizes weight reduction by removing the rear seats, analog clock, floor and trunk mats, and insulation. It also includes a single manual charging port on the passenger side and lighter trunk materials. Additionally, the Sound Package Plus eliminates the Bose Surround Sound system and adds special acoustic and thermal glass. These measures make the Taycan Turbo GT up to 71 kg lighter than the Taycan Turbo S, improving its power-to-weight ratio.

Porsche announced that the Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Weissach package has achieved the title of “fastest production electric vehicle” by recording a lap time of 1:27.87 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California, USA . The record was set on February 23, 2024, with Porsche development driver Lars Kahn at the wheel.

In January 2024, a pre-production Porsche Taycan Turbo GT prototype driven by the same driver achieved an astounding lap time of 7:07.55 at the Nürburgring, earning the title of “fastest four-door of any powertrain type.”

According to Porsche, the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds , or 2.2 seconds with the optional Weissach package, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.6 or 6.4 seconds, respectively, on its way to a top speed of 306 km/h.

Inside, the 18-way adjustable adaptive sport seats and GT sport steering wheel are upholstered in Race-Tex and black leather. Turbo GT emblems are featured on the headrests and center console. The dark-themed cabin shown here can be optionally decorated in Volt Blue or GT Silver contrast tones with various shades of contrast stitching.
