Stellantis officially announced the new EV model “Ypsilon,” which marks the revival of the Lancia brand, on February 14, 2024. The company also announced a limited edition grade “Lancia Ypsilon Cassina” exclusively for the EV. Lancia will produce 1,906 “numbered and certified units” to commemorate the year the brand was founded.
About the new Lancia “Epsilon”
It is built on the Stellantis Group’s (CMP/eCMP) platform, making it a sibling of the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa, also under the Stellantis umbrella. However, the exterior and interior design have been significantly changed to set it apart from the other two, adding plenty of Italian flair. It will also be released as a limited-edition EV model, the Lancia Ypsilon Cassina, with a serial number of 1,906 units. The Easy Wallbox home charging system and a three-year or 30,000km warranty are included with each purchase.
The Ypsilon is the first production model to embody Lancia’s new styling language, featuring the “Calis” grille and illuminated versions of the round taillights inspired by the iconic Lancia Stratos. These elements, first seen on the Pu+Ra HPE Concept, will be standard on all models, including the upcoming Gamma crossover and Delta hatchback.
About the exterior of the new Lancia “Epsilon”
The new Ypsilon’s exterior features an innovative design that sets it apart from previous models, with eye-catching elements scattered throughout, including polygonal headlights positioned low in the front bumper, hidden rear door handles, and glossy black accents.
It re-enters the subcompact segment. With a body size of 4,080mm in length, 1,760mm in width, and 1,440mm in height, it is 240mm longer and 120mm wider than the previous model, while being 70mm lower. This brings it in line with the size of modern B-segment models.

Lancia Ypsilon Cassina, a limited edition of 1,906 units
The Lancia Ypsilon Limited Edition Cassina will be available for order immediately from 14 February 2024 onwards, and the company is encouraging Italian fans to take part in the “A Year in 1906” campaign by submitting a “non-binding” expression of interest form via its official website. The 13-year-old Lancia Ypsilon was only sold in Italy, but the new generation will be available in more European markets as the brand’s dealer network expands.
About the interior of the new Lancia “Epsilon”
According to Lancia, emphasis has been placed on high-quality materials and unique design features to ensure the cabin resembles an Italian living room. This was achieved through a collaboration with the Italian luxury furniture brand, Cassina, who contributed to the selection of materials and colours, creating a unique space with features such as velvet-upholstered seats with a nostalgic “cannelloni” motif and a circular centre console resembling a coffee table.

This is the first model to feature Lancia’s SALA (Sound Air Light Augmentation) infotainment system, which will be installed in all future Lancia models. The digital cockpit features two 10.25-inch screens, and a sphere above the dashboard acts as an AI-enhanced virtual assistant.

Lancia’s new Ypsilon is equipped with Level 2 autonomous driving and a comprehensive ADAS system
The Ypsilon is the only model in its segment to come standard with Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, and Lancia is also confident in its ADAS technology, offering best-in-class features such as lighting and parking assistance systems.
Lancia’s new “Ypsilon” specs
Epsilon EV
The new Epsilon EV is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor producing 154 hp (115 kW) and 260 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 51 kWh battery pack, giving it a WLTP range of 403 km on a single charge. Using a compatible DC charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 24 minutes. It shares the same (CMP/eCMP) platform with many other Stellantis vehicles, including the Peugeot e -208 , Opel Corsa Electric , and Jeep Avenger .

Epsilon Hybrid
The electric hatchback will be followed by a hybrid version, the last ICE-powered model before Lancia becomes an EV-only brand. At this time, no details have been released about the specs of the Ypsilon Hybrid. It is expected to be powered by a turbocharged 1.2L three-cylinder engine with a 48V system, similar to the one found in the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600 SUV.
About the Lancia “Lancia Pu+Ra HPE Concept”
Serving as the first production model in Lancia’s new styling language, the new Ypsilon incorporates an illuminated version of the “Calis” grille and round taillights inspired by the iconic Lancia Stratos – a concept previewed by the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE Concept and common to all future models, including the Gamma crossover and Delta hatchback.

Lancia Pu Ra HPE Concept
The name “Pu+Ra” comes from the company’s new pure and radical design language, while “HPE” stands for “High Performance Electric,” paying homage to the 1970s Beta HPE, which originally stood for “High Performance Estate.”
