General Motors Japan released the 2024 model of Cadillac’s flagship SUV, the Cadillac Escalade, on January 22, 2024.

The new 8-seater “Premium” grade is being introduced for the first time in Japan, bringing the Escalade to three grades in addition to the existing “Platinum” and “Sport” grades.
Cadillac’s new Escalade Premium grade
The Premium model retains the Escalade’s unique ruggedness and elegance, and is equipped with a special front grille and wheel design, as well as interior seats and trim. The fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade is the first in Japan to feature an eight-passenger configuration with a second-row bench seat. The automatically folding third-row seats create a spacious 2,065-liter luggage space, perfect for those who want to enjoy the Escalade’s outstanding spaciousness and performance. The interior color is Jet Black, and the exterior colors are Sable Black, Crystal White Tricoat, and the Premium-exclusive Argent Silver Metallic, for a total of three colors.

About the new Escalade full model change
Exterior
The Escalade is a top-of-the-line SUV model, above the next-generation XT6 SUV, which has undergone a full model change . It features Cadillac’s latest exterior design, the brand’s signature vertical LED daytime running lights, and 22-inch aluminum wheels as standard. The 2021 model is the first to offer a Sport trim.

The interior design features the world’s first 38-inch curved OLED display, which is ultra-high definition and has twice the pixel density of a 4K TV. It is separated into a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16.9-inch infotainment system. It also features a 7.2-inch driver information center located to the left of the steering wheel.
A dedicated AKG sound system (36 speakers) is available. Thanks to the new platform and independent rear suspension, the Escalade is much more spacious than its predecessor. In the standard model, third-row legroom increases by 40% to 886 mm, creating “one of the spacious third rows in the segment.” It adds 722 liters of floor space, raising overall capacity to 3,089 liters. If additional space is needed, the Escalade ESV is available, which is 404 mm longer than the standard model and boasts 933 mm of third-row legroom and 3,585 liters of total cargo capacity.

Safety systems include “Super Cruise” for hands-free driving, made possible by “LiDAR map data, high-precision GPS, a cutting-edge driver attention system, and a network of cameras and radar sensors.”
New Escalade full model change engine
It is equipped with a V8 6.2L engine with a maximum output of 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and a maximum torque of 460 lb-ft (623 Nm), and a 3L diesel turbo engine with a maximum output of 277 hp (207 kW / 281 PS) and a maximum torque of 460 lb-ft (623 Nm).
In terms of performance, customers can expect dramatically improved ride quality, control and steering responsiveness thanks to the independent rear suspension. This model also features Magnetic Ride Control, which continuously adjusts the shocks for a comfortable ride.
