Toyota Motor USA announced the 2025 model of its new crossover SUV, the Crown Signia (known as the Crown Estate in Japan ), on November 14, 2023 (local time). It is scheduled to be released to the market in 2024. It was open to the public from February 10, 2024, and was also exhibited at the main Toyota booth at the Chicago Auto Show 2024, which ran until February 19.
The Crown Signia is the US model of the Crown Estate , which was recently announced in Japan . To avoid the stigma associated with the wagon in the US, the car was given the flashier Crown Signia nameplate. While the Crown has been a Japanese domestic model for many years, it has been decided that it will be sold in approximately 40 countries and regions around the world, primarily in the US and China . This will be the first time it has been released in the US in 50 years.
Toyota’s New Crown Signia Exterior
It inherits the design language that defines the entire Crown family, including the distinctive “hammerhead” front fascia, gentle contours, and slender full-width LED taillights. Its short overhangs and fairly low roofline give it a sportier presence compared to a typical SUV. Toyota has not yet announced the specific dimensions of the US-spec Crown Signia, but it will roughly match the dimensions of the original Crown Estate prototype, measuring 4,930mm in length and 1,880mm in height. It will be slightly smaller than the Highlander.

Toyota’s new Crown Signia interior
The interior dashboard closely resembles that of the Crown Crossover and features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. The system is compatible with over-the-air (OTA) updates and offers connected services. The five-passenger layout provides ample space for rear passengers.
Customers can choose from two interior hues: “Saddle Tan” or “Black,” both of which feature bronze accents. In addition to the interior choices, the Crown Signia offers five different exterior colors. Depending on the trim level, the SUV is available with 19-inch or 21-inch wheels.

Toyota’s New Crown Signia Powertrain
Toyota says the SUV will be available in both hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions for Japan, but only the hybrid (HEV) version will be available in the U.S. The self-charging hybrid system features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to dual electric motors. Power output is 243 hp (181 kW/246 PS), delivered to all four wheels via an eCVT (electronically controlled continuously variable transmission) with the help of a standard electronic on-demand all-wheel drive system.
