Top 15 Japanese cars with 0-100km/h acceleration
*We will check the latest automobile information and correct any errors.
Including imported cars, the electric car RIMAC’s “NEVERA” accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds, while Tesla’s “Model S” accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds, both impressive figures. There’s a big difference compared to Japanese cars, but that’s because Japanese cars don’t yet have electric sports cars.

2. About NSX
The NSX is a two-seater sports car produced and sold by Honda. The second generation NSX is equipped with a hybrid system. Honda completely redesigned the new NSX, which was announced in Japan on August 25, 2016, and released on Monday, February 27, 2017. Honda announced the 2020 model of the NSX on December 5, 2019 , and began accepting orders. It will be released in April 2020.
About the new 2020 NSX model
New color “Indy Yellow Pearl II” added. Following the improvements made in 2018 that pursued the joy of “driving” created by the sense of unity between the driver and the car and refined dynamic performance, the new color “Indy Yellow Pearl II” has now been added to the exterior color lineup as the second in the “Exciting Color Series” following “Thermal Orange Pearl.”

NSX
Inspired by the Indy Yellow Pearl of the first-generation NSX, the color has evolved with the times to become clear and vivid, expressing the appearance and powerful presence of a supercar, while also further enhancing the worldview of the NSX and the joy of “looking at and owning” a super sports car.

Honda announced the super sports model “NSX Type S” on August 30, 2021. It plans to sell 350 units worldwide.
New NSX Type S exterior
As the culmination of the second-generation NSX, the NSX Type S pursues performance and design that surpasses the NSX. In terms of dynamic performance, the Type S aims for acceleration and cornering performance, as well as aerodynamics and cooling performance, all of which have been thoroughly refined to provide a sense of unity between the driver and the car and the joy of driving. The design is a new one that realizes functional advances, such as the Type S’s aerodynamics and cooling performance. The presence and appeal of the super sports car are further refined with new, limited-edition matte finishes, exclusive parts that create a special feel, and a Type S-exclusive logo. The Type S is fitted with high-grip tires (19-inch front and 20-inch rear) and newly designed, dedicated forged aluminum wheels with a wider tread, further enhancing limit performance and controllability on the circuit.

New NSX Type S interior
The color coordination emphasizes the presence of the Type S, expressing sophistication. The seats have new color variations and feature embroidered NSX logos on the headrests. The glove box also features a Type S-exclusive logo.

New NSX Type S engine specs
The Type S achieves further improvements in engine output through improved engine combustion efficiency, increased boost pressure through the use of a highly heat-resistant turbocharger, and improved cooling performance. Furthermore, the IPU (Intelligent Power Unit) battery output and available capacity have been expanded, significantly improving the overall system output and torque. To further enhance the driving experience and the sense of unity between the driver and the car, the car also features tuning of the engine sound and, for the first time in a Honda model, paddle hold downshifts, which allow the driver to instantly downshift to the appropriate gear when decelerating.

The direct-injection 3.5L twin-turbo V6 and electric motor remain the same, but thanks to upgrades, the combined output is 449kW (610PS) and 667Nm (68.0kgm) of torque. The Type S produces 27 hp (20 kW / 27 PS) and +16 lb-ft (22 Nm) more than the regular NSX. The power bump is achieved thanks to a set of new turbochargers borrowed from the race car, NSX GT3 Evo, new injectors (+25% flow rate), and a new intercooler, all of which increase boost pressure to 16.1 psi (+5.6%). The 1.0-liter V6 alone produces 389kW (529PS) at 6,500-6,850 rpm and 600Nm (61.2kgm) of torque at 2,300-6,000 rpm. A new battery with +20% usable capacity and +10% power allows the electric motor to provide a wider electric range. The 9-speed DCT automatic gearbox has 50% faster upshift response and a new rapid downshift mode, and the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD torque vectoring system has been tuned for even better cornering performance. All four modes of the dynamics system (Quiet, Sport, Sport+, Track) have been retuned, the adaptive damper system calibration is more focused, and the engine sound is richer.
2 seconds faster than the regular NSX at Suzuka
Honda says the changes will make the 2022 NSX Type-S two seconds faster than the 2021 NSX at Suzuka. Considering the 2019 NSX was already two seconds faster than the 2018 model, this means the Type-S shaved a total of four seconds off the original second-generation NSX.
3. About the Lexus LFA
Production of the Lexus LFA began on December 15, 2010, at the Toyota Motor Corporation Motomachi Plant “LFA Workshop” in Aichi Prefecture. Almost all of the cars were handmade by artisans at a rate of one car per day, and 500 units were produced over a 25-month period until December 14, 2012. The model is no longer in production.

LEXUS LFA
In 2000, Toyota Motor Corporation came up with a plan to “create the ultimate Japanese-made supercar,” and development of the LFA began. Production of the commercial version began in December 2010, with deliveries being made to buyers selected through the aforementioned method. Approximately 50 of the 500 units were produced in early 2012 as a high-performance “Nürburgring Package” model, designed for circuit racing.
The car’s official name was ” LFA ” without the hyphen, in homage to the concept car “LF-A (Lexus Future Advance)”, but later, with the full-scale launch of the “F” series, the official name was changed to ” Lexus F Sports Apex (LFA) ” to emphasize that it was the pinnacle and symbol of the “F” series. In August 2011, during a confirmation run on the Nürburgring (Nordschleife), it recorded a time of 7 minutes 14.64 seconds, the fastest time at the time for a commercially available FR car from a mass-produced car manufacturer.
