Honda of America announced the new 2025 Civic model on May 21, 2024 (local time). The 2025 US model adds a hybrid to the current model for the first time in 10 years.

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid combines two electric motors with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine to produce a total of 200 horsepower (149 kW / 203 PS) and 315 Nm of torque. This is more powerful than the Japanese model’s e:HEV and makes it the most powerful version of the Civic currently available, aside from the Type R.

Honda has not yet revealed detailed specifications, but claims the hybrid model will outperform the current turbocharged 1.5L model in acceleration. At the same time, Honda promises the new Civic Hybrid will be significantly more efficient, achieving approximately 50 mpg. Furthermore, Honda engineers meticulously optimized the hybrid’s suspension, custom tuning both the springs and dampers.

The exterior adopts a sportier face, with a redesigned grille and bumper intakes that echo the design of the Civic RS prototype shown at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon.
The Hybrid trim is distinguished by body-color garnish on the headlight surrounds and front splitter. Other cosmetic updates include dark-tinted taillights on the sedan, machine-finished 18-inch wheels on the Sport Touring Hybrid, and four new exterior tints.
