Nissan has announced that it will release the new Nissan Sakura and the 90th anniversary model, the Nissan Sakura 90th Anniversary, with some upgraded specifications, on June 4, 2024.
Nissan’s new Sakura 90th anniversary model with some improved specifications
This partial specification upgrade includes the addition of a rearview monitor and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with display to the X and S grades, and a heated passenger seat as standard equipment to the G grade, improving usability. Amazon Alexa is also now included in the NissanConnect navigation system, exclusive to EVs. A new two-tone body color, Silky Lilac/Titanium Gray, has been adopted.

The Nissan Sakura mini EV received the highest rating of Five Stars in the 2022 Automotive Safety Performance Awards. Furthermore , the Nissan Sakura and Mitsubishi ek Cross EV won the 43rd 2022-2023 Japan Car of the Year Awards . On May 20, 2022, Nissan announced that it would release the Sakura mini BEV (battery electric vehicle) on June 16, 2022. The effective purchase price, when utilizing the Clean Energy Vehicle Adoption Promotion Subsidy (550,000 yen), will start from approximately 1.78 million yen (including consumption tax).
This is the first time that a minicar is equipped with advanced features. In addition to adopting “ProPilot,” a driving assistance technology for single lanes on expressways , the car is also the first to be equipped with “ProPilot Parking,” which automatically controls the steering, accelerator, brakes, gear changes, and parking brake when parking. From city streets to expressways and even parking lots, the advanced technology supports driving.

The exterior design, featuring a front face and luminous emblem that evokes the next generation of Nissan , exudes a calm, mature atmosphere. The light from the advanced, elegant, thin headlights, which feature three projector-type headlights – a first for a minicar – assists safe driving even on nighttime roads. The back door also features wide LED rear combination lamps inspired by a lattice pattern.
