Mercedes-Benz announced a minor change model of its electric crossover EQB in Japan on June 13, 2023, and released it on the same day. Overseas, the world premiere was held on August 24, 2023.
A new option for compact EVs

The new EQB was developed as an electric vehicle version of the GLB-Class, a three-row seat SUV equipped with an internal combustion engine. Along with the EQA, it joins Mercedes’ compact EV lineup and has been on sale in Japan since July 2022.
New EQB improvement points
The new EQB features a completely redesigned exterior and the introduction of the EQB250+ model, which increases battery capacity from 66.5kWh to 70.5kWh. This extends the range to 557km and lowers the price. It also features the latest infotainment and safety systems, improving functionality.

New EQB Japanese model release date and price
The new EQB will be released in Japan on June 13, 2024, with prices ranging from 8,110,000 yen to 8,990,000 yen.
New EQB exterior
The exterior of the new EQB features a new design to enhance its quality. It is equipped with a distinctive star-shaped front grille, a light bar connecting the left and right headlights, and a front bumper with improved aerodynamic efficiency. The rear is fitted with 3D-style taillights, giving it a cutting-edge impression.

New EQB interior
The interior of the new EQB incorporates the latest equipment and is highly functional. Two large 10.25-inch displays are arranged in succession in front of the three-spoke steering wheel, improving operability.
It now connects wirelessly to “Apple CarPlay” or “Android Auto,” supports the latest voice recognition, the voice assistant is claimed to be more useful to make up for the loss of the trackpad, and the optional Burmester surround sound system comes with Dolby Atmos and sound “experience.”
The touchpad on the center console has also been eliminated, resulting in a cleaner design. The new-generation steering wheel is equipped with navigation and driving assistance setting functions, and the rim is equipped with a capacitive sensor for hands-off detection. Furthermore, the car also features a “star pattern interior trim (with backlight)” that displays a three-pointed star in front of the passenger seat when driving at night.
The AMG Leather Exclusive package adds a heated steering wheel, while the optional Advanced package includes a 12-speaker Burmester surround-sound system.
