On July 4, 2024, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) and the All Japan Light Motor Vehicle Association (AJMCA) announced the preliminary figures for passenger car sales by model and light four-wheel vehicle sales by common name for June 2024. The N-BOX took the top spot among light vehicles with 14,947 units sold. In this ranking, the Daihatsu Tanto finally made it into the top three.
Passenger car ranking
In passenger cars, the Toyota Corolla took the lead with 13,813 units sold. In second place was the Toyota Yaris with 12,184 units sold, and in third place was the Toyota Sienta with 8,987 units sold. The top two cars sold over 10,000 units each.

Light car ranking
In the minicar category, the Honda N-BOX took the top spot with 16,803 units sold. In second place was the Suzuki Spacia with 12,425 units sold, and in third place was the Daihatsu Tanto with 11,933 units sold. Daihatsu is a regular in the minicar rankings, but was affected by the suspension of sales due to the Daihatsu fraud scandal , and now the Tanto has finally made it into the top three.
