Lamborghini announced the Temerario, the successor to the brand’s super sports car, the Huracan, on June 18, 2024. This marks the end of the Huracan era and a major evolution of Lamborghini’s lineup. The Temerario is a V8 plug-in hybrid supercar equipped with triple motors, boasting approximately 45% more power than the Huracan’s mid-engine V10 engine. We’ll explain exactly what kind of model it is.
About Lamborghini Temerario
The Huracán, which debuted in 2013, continued the Gallardo’s legacy, but the automotive industry has changed dramatically over the past decade. As a result, the Temerario, while similar in appearance, has evolved into a car with completely different performance and technology. Lamborghini has made clear its policy of promoting electrification and achieving both reduced emissions and increased power, discontinuing the Huracán’s 5.2L V10 engine and replacing it with a new turbocharged V8.

When Ferrari switched from naturally aspirated V8s to turbocharged engines a decade ago, it delivered a huge boost in power and torque, but lost some of its sonorous appeal. Lamborghini wants to avoid the same mistake, so it equips the Temerario with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which uses the same hot-V configuration as the Urus and can rev to an astounding 10,000 rpm.

The Temerario’s V8 engine produces up to 789 horsepower (800 PS) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque from its internal combustion engine alone, and when combined with three 110 kW (148 hp) electric motors, it delivers a total of 907 horsepower (920 PS), more than the Ferrari 296 GTB or McLaren 750S.
But with this increased power comes an increase in the Temerario’s weight. At 3,726 pounds (1,690 kg), it’s 592 pounds (268 kg) heavier than a Huracán and 485 pounds (220 kg) heavier than a Ferrari 296 GTB. Still, Lamborghini claims the Temerario will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 343 km/h.

The Temerario’s design has also evolved, with a similar silhouette to the Revuelto, but with slim LED headlights and deep front air intakes. The interior also features a digital gauge cluster and a vertical touchscreen for increased driver comfort.
The addition of an electric front axle means the Temerario can be switched to all-wheel drive EV mode, and can also be used as a front-wheel drive EV in urban areas, but the battery capacity is small at 3.8 kWh, limiting the range in EV mode to a few miles.

Additionally, Lamborghini offers a weight-saving “Alleggerita” package that combines carbon fiber body parts, lightweight wheels, and a titanium exhaust to shave up to 55 pounds (25 kg).

The price of the Temerario has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be around $340,000, close to the price of a Ferrari 296 GTB. Lamborghini’s new supercar, the Temerario, surpasses the Huracan in power, performance, and technology.
