Nissan’s Infiniti announced on August 22, 2024, that production of the Q50 will end in 2024. The current model has been on sale since 2013 as Infiniti’s entry-level sedan, and was the brand’s only sedan, following the discontinuation of the Q70 in 2019 and the Q60 Coupe in 2022.

Infiniti Q50

The Q50 is a luxury car manufactured and sold by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. It was launched in Japan on November 11, 2013, as the V37 Nissan Skyline.

It had its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in January 2013. It was then unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March of the same year and the Shanghai Motor Show in April of the same year. The only exterior difference between the Japanese model is that it does not have the Infiniti mark or Q50 logo on the rear, but instead has a “SKYLINE” logo on the garnish, and the interior is almost identical except for the steering wheel being positioned on the right side and the meter layout being slightly different.

A diesel-powered model was not available for the Japanese market. The car is equipped with ProPilot 2.0 , a system that also includes pedal misapplication prevention assist , and pedestrian detection for emergency braking .
