Subaru New Impreza B-Type Partial Improvement

The special edition “ST Smart Edition” based on the gasoline grade “ST” has been added. It comes standard with safety features such as Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (rear side warning support system), emergency pre-crash steering, emergency lane keep assist, as well as dark metallic painted 17-inch aluminum wheels, LED front fog lamps, and side sill spoilers.

The infotainment system has been made easier to use, connected service functions have been added, and the interior quality of the audio-less model has been improved (gloss black door mirrors, genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel, genuine leather-wrapped shift lever with silver accents, piano black shift panel, silver-stitched shift boot).

The AVH button on the 11.6-inch center information display has been placed in the home button area for improved usability. SUBARU STARLINK now features remote air conditioning, and a hazard flashing function has been added to the car search function. Furthermore, Daybreak Blue Pearl has been added to the body color lineup.

Possibility of full hybrid “next-generation e-BOXER”

Although the details have not been revealed, a 2.5L engine model has been added to the improved US Impreza model “RS” grade . Also, it has been officially announced that the Impreza SUV “Crosstrek” will be equipped with the next-generation e-BOXER (2.5L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder DOHC + motor (THS) combination) that uses Toyota’s hybrid system “THS” in the B model . We can expect similar improvements to the Impreza, which currently has similar specifications. Even if it is not adopted in the B model, there is a high possibility that it will be adopted in the next model.

New Impreza B-type partial improvement exterior design

The exterior maintains the same concept, fully adopting Subaru’s new design philosophy of “DYNAMIC × SOLID.” It employs the ” SUBARU GLOBAL PLATFORM (SGP) ,” which is further improved from the previous model, employing a full inner frame structure, expanding the use of structural adhesives, and improving the rigidity of suspension mounting points. It also incorporates a seat design created using a new approach based on the structure of the human body, and the mature e-BOXER electric technology. It brings together the best of SUBARU’s people-centered technology, dramatically improving driving performance.

New Impreza B-type partial improvement interior

Some grades are equipped with an 11.6-inch STARLINK-compatible multi-information display, which supports wireless connections with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional STARLINK services include remote locking/unlocking via a smartphone app, remote horn/lights, and remote vehicle location confirmation. The car also boasts a functional and large-capacity cargo room, a spacious luggage compartment that makes it easy to load and unload large items, and rear seats that can be easily adjusted, ensuring high functionality and flexibility.

The Active Torque Split AWD control has been revamped, improving responsiveness, handling, and cornering performance. The quality of the interior and exterior has been significantly improved. The meters, including the Electric Parking Brake & Hold , have also been completely redesigned. An even higher level of dynamic quality has been achieved than the previous model. A seat structure that supports the pelvis has been adopted. By holding the sacrum, it prevents the transmission of body vibrations to the head. This ensures a comfortable ride, even when the body is shaken violently by steering roll or road undulations.

New Impreza B-type partial improvement, new generation EyeSight adopted

Performance has been improved by adopting a triple camera (stereo camera unit + wide-angle monocular camera) . The new stereo camera unit has a significantly wider angle of view, approximately twice that of the previous model. The image recognition software and control software have been improved to enable recognition over a wider and farther range. A new monocular camera has been adopted that has a wider angle than the new stereo camera and can recognize motorcycles and pedestrians. The range of situations in which pre-crash braking can be applied has been expanded, achieving the best performance of any EyeSight model to date.

Adopts a “Digital Multi-View Monitor” that displays a 360-degree view around the vehicle

While this is common among other manufacturers, the Subaru is the first to adopt a 360° “Digital Multi-View Monitor.” It uses a 3D view/top view that combines images from four cameras to display a 360° view around the vehicle, improving visibility around the vehicle. Additionally, the newly adopted center information display is used for the screen display, and the larger, higher-resolution screen than conventional multi-function displays improves visibility and ease of use.

Connected service “SUBARU STARLINK”

In the unlikely event of a serious accident, in order to save as many lives as possible, this service provides reliable and secure support by connecting you to a call center 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the event of a traffic accident or other trouble.

New Impreza B-type partial improvement expected specifications

We’ve created predicted specifications for the Crosstrek’s full hybrid “next-generation e-BOXER,” a 2.5L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder DOHC + motor (THS) engine. This combines the 2.5L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder DOHC naturally aspirated “FB25” engine currently used overseas with the motor system used in the Harrier and RAV4. A word from the editorial department

No one would have guessed that the Impreza’s partial upgrade would feature a 2.5L full-hybrid “next-generation e-BOXER.” This system, which combines a horizontally opposed engine with Toyota’s hybrid system “THS” motor, is truly a dream come true. By combining the reliable “THS” with the latest horizontally opposed engine, we can expect not only improved fuel economy but also powerful motor assistance. The horizontally opposed engine also contributes to stability by minimizing pitching motion during engine start-up. It also comes equipped with EyeSight, the most advanced safety system available today , and the adoption of a new hybrid system will significantly improve fuel economy and take advantage of the characteristics of the horizontally opposed engine. We’re really looking forward to the arrival of the new Impreza.
