DS Automobiles, a member of the PSA Group, plans to launch its next-generation flagship model, the new DS8, a seven-seater coupe SUV, in Japan in 2025. Currently, a production prototype has been captured on camera for the first time, and spy shots have also been taken.
The car is most likely to be called “DS8” and is scheduled to have its world premiere in the third quarter of 2024. It is expected to be priced at around £50,000 (approximately 9.5 million yen), significantly higher than the Peugeot “E-3008,” and will be assembled at the Stellantis plant in Melfi, Italy.
French car brand DS is close to releasing its new SUV, the DS8, and a prototype spotted on a German public road offers a glimpse of its stylish design and cutting-edge technology.

The DS8 will be built on the Stellantis Group’s new STLA Medium Architecture platform, which it shares with the Peugeot E-3008 . It is expected to have a seven-seater layout, making it an attractive option for families.
Although the prototype is heavily camouflaged, we can see its slim headlights, simple front design, and unique rear quarter window shape. The rear doors do not have traditional handles, but are instead built into the thick C-pillars, showcasing advanced design elements throughout.
The rear section is stylishly styled with extremely slim LED taillights on the outside of the body that connect to the sleek coupe roof, and a central brake light integrated into the trunk lid.
The entry-level model will be equipped with an 86kWh battery, while the top-of-the-line model will be equipped with a 98kWh battery, with a range of 700km. It is rumored that a single-motor version with a maximum output of 230ps and a dual-motor version with a maximum output of 388ps will also be offered.
