The Japan Mobility Show 2024 (JMS2024) is being held at Makuhari Messe for four days from October 15th to 18th, 2024. Mitsubishi Motors exhibited the new 2025 model Outlander PHEV. They also announced five new businesses that will pave the way for the future .
New Outlander PHEV

An evolved PHEV system delivers even lower fuel consumption and higher power output
The new Outlander PHEV features a significantly upgraded drive battery, the heart of the PHEV system, from 20kWh to 22.7kWh, and an all-new motor. This increases the distance that can be driven on electric power alone (EV driving range) from 87km to 106km , delivering even more powerful driving. Engine improvements and optimized control have also boosted fuel economy from the previous 16.2km/L to 16.6km/L to 17.2km/L to 17.6km/L. From city driving to long-distance drives, you can now enjoy a more comfortable and environmentally friendly ride in any situation.
Sophisticated interior and exterior design

The exterior has been redesigned with a sharper, more refined impression thanks to a revised front grille and bumper, and the rear taillights have also been converted to LED. The interior features high-quality materials and color coordination to create a more comfortable and luxurious space. A large display has been adopted, and the latest infotainment system and connected technology have also been installed, improving convenience.


Outlander PHEV minor change model
It is also equipped with the evolved S-AWC integrated vehicle dynamics control system, and by adopting brake control Brake AYC on the rear wheels as well, it has been developed into distributed control of the front and rear wheels.
New front grille and newly designed 20-inch wheels

This facelift model features a new front grille, which gives it a new image and improves aerodynamic performance. It also comes equipped with newly designed 20-inch wheels.
Finally, a large 12.3-inch display audio is adopted.

12.3-inch smartphone-linked navigation
The interior will feature a smartphone-linked navigation system with a large 12.3-inch display, up from the current 9-inch display.
Uses Dynamic Sound YAMAHA Ultimate, developed in collaboration with Yamaha

Dynamic Sound YAMAHA Ultimate
The Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate, available on the top-of-the-line P Executive Package, replaces the BOSE sound system with a Yamaha one . Based on Yamaha’s musical philosophy, the car offers four realistic sound types, and the door design has been revised to provide a sound that matches the product concept, providing the ultimate acoustic space .
The “Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium” featured in the “P”, “G”, and “M” grades is equipped with a total of eight speakers, including coaxial speakers in the rear with a tweeter positioned coaxially with the woofer.
Improved motor output and significantly extended EV driving range
The powertrain is equipped with a newly developed battery with a capacity of 22kWh, up from 20kWh, significantly extending the EV range from 87km to 106km. In addition, the motor output has been improved, resulting in more responsive, powerful and smooth acceleration .
Seat ventilation

Furthermore, new seats, “semi-aniline leather seats,” have been adopted, and seat ventilation has been adopted, improving comfort. The brown-based interior has significantly improved the quality of the interior. A digital inner mirror has been newly added, improving comfort. In addition to the previous 7-seater model, the premium grade “P” will also be available in a 5-seater model.







Notable new businesses
- Evenion Place: Operated by Evenion Co., Ltd., a new company established by Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus. Offers next-generation mobility services such as EV charging.
- NOYAMA Inc.: Established through joint investment with Hakuhodo, NOYAMA operates a platform business specializing in outdoor activities.
