Special edition “Retro Sports Edition” added

MX-30 Retro Sports Edition
Introducing the new “Retro Sports Edition,” a special edition vehicle that combines a retro-modern atmosphere with sportiness.
The exterior has a bold impression with the door mirrors, wheels, and front signature all in black, and the center of the roof is also black, creating a stylish two-tone color. Three sophisticated body colors are available: Zircon Sand Metallic (2-tone), Ceramic Metallic (2-tone), and Machine Gray Premium Metallic (2-tone).
The interior combines a warm terracotta color with a sporty black to create a high-quality space. The center of the seat is made of Legane suede-like fabric, accented with terracotta-colored stitching. The design, which has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, creates a retro-modern atmosphere.
About the new MX-30
The design was created based on the concept of “Human Modern,” based on Mazda’s design theme, “KODO-SOUL of MOTION.”

The new car employs the next-generation vehicle structural technology “SKYACTIV-Vehicle Architecture.” The rear passenger doors feature “Freestyle Doors,” reminiscent of the RX-8. The latest model of the “i-ACTIVSENSE” safety system is also available. Based on a human-centered development philosophy, the car pursues the “joy of driving through the unity of man and horse,” a concept that remains unchanged even in EVs. It also employs the new electrification technology “e-SKYACTIV.” It also features the “e-SKYACTIV G” system, which combines the 2.0L direct-injection gasoline engine “SKYACTIV-G 2.0” with the mild hybrid system “M HYBRID.” It also features “MAZDAeG-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC +).” The interior offers a comfortable cabin space. It employs an 8.8-inch infotainment system. An on-board communication device compatible with the global communication platform is standard. Connected services and the smartphone app “MyMazda” are linked. The Mazda Harmonic Acoustics audio system (8 speakers) is standard, while a Bose sound system (12 speakers) with enhanced three-dimensional sound and clarity is available as an option.

About the rotary engine-equipped “MAZDA MX-30 Rotary-EV”
The rotary engine, which Mazda successfully mass-produced in 1967 , is a technology that symbolizes Mazda , and with a spirit of “never giving in to challenges,” the company has continued to pursue the possibilities of the rotary engine and create new value for over half a century . Taking advantage of the rotary engine’s unique ability to achieve the required output performance in a compact unit, Mazda will launch the plug-in hybrid model “MAZDA MX-30 Rotary-EV,” which uses the rotary engine as a generator.
About the MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV Range Extender Model
The new MX-30 is available in two currently announced versions: the mild hybrid e-SKYACTIV G and the electric e-SKYACTIV . The e-SKYACTIV electric model has a WLTC range of approximately 200km, which is frankly unreliable compared to other electric vehicles, as it has a shorter driving range from a fully charged battery. To address this issue, the e-SKYACTIV is equipped with a single rotary engine generator, a “rotary engine generator” model designed to double the driving range. Combined with a 17.8kWh lithium-ion battery and a 50L fuel tank, the new model boasts a European WLTP range of approximately 400 miles (approximately 640km), putting it on par with other competitors. The EV driving range is 80km in the European WLTP mode.
The entire drive is powered by a motor, and the car has an EV range of 107km, making it suitable for use as a battery EV in a wide range of everyday situations, and the rotary engine generates electricity for even longer distances.

The rotary engine is back
This marks the return of the rotary engine . Mazda likely had plans to equip the MX-30 from the beginning. The reason is that the rear passenger doors feature “freestyle doors” that open like a double door, reminiscent of the RX-8, the last model to feature a rotary engine. This may be disappointing for fans of the RX series, but with the current SUV boom, adopting it in this form is an excellent decision. Furthermore, Nissan also calls the “series system (range extender)” “e-POWER,” and it has become so popular that it is now a best-seller in terms of sales volume.
