On November 7, 2024, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) and the All Japan Light Motor Vehicle Association (AJMCA) announced the preliminary figures for passenger car sales by model name and new light four-wheel vehicle sales by common name for October 2024. The top spot for light vehicles was taken by the N-BOX, with 24,953 units sold.
Passenger car ranking
Among passenger cars, the Toyota Yaris took the top spot with 16,830 units. In second place was the Toyota Corolla with 14,865 units, and in third place was the Toyota Roomy with 10,831 units. The Daihatsu Roomy, a regular in the minicar rankings but whose sales were halted due to Daihatsu ‘s fraud scandal , came in third, and the Raize came in fourth.
