New “Tiguan” full model change exterior

2024 VW Tiguan
The new Tiguan is built on the latest MQB Evo platform, an evolution of the previous MQB architecture. This platform is also used in the Golf, Passat, and Audi A3, and offers more advanced performance. The exterior, with flared rear fenders and a tapered waistline, is more muscular and closer to the Touareg. With body dimensions ranging from 4,545mm to 4,540mm in length, 1,840mm to 1,860mm in width, 1,650mm in height, and a 2,675mm wheelbase, the Tiguan exudes a more dynamic style. It is 19mm longer than the previous model, resulting in more spacious interior space.

The new Tiguan has a higher hood position to emphasize its SUV-like strength, and its aerodynamic performance has been improved with a cd value of 0.28, up from 0.33.
The side view, with its horizontal character line and gently sloping roofline towards the rear, gives the car a relaxed and sporty impression, while the rear view, with its wide stance and three-dimensional taillights, gives it a striking presence.
This has enabled the car to incorporate many technologies from higher-end segments, such as the adaptive chassis control “DCC Pro” and the latest matrix headlights “IQ. LIGHT HD.”

New “Tiguan” full model change interior

The interior of the new Tiguan is a space that pursues quality and comfort.
The dashboard, which uses a horizontal design, gives the impression of spaciousness. The instrument panel is equipped with a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro as standard, clearly displaying the information the driver needs.
The interior has also been significantly revised, with the introduction of a 15-inch touchscreen with a configurable menu bar at the top. There are no physical hard keys, and the necessary operation buttons are displayed at the bottom of the screen. The new generation infotainment system “MIB4” is also adopted, and the driver’s seat is equipped with an air pressure massage function as standard, with the same function available for the passenger seat as an option.

The seats are ergonomically designed to provide a comfortable seating experience even on long drives. The rear seats are split-foldable in a 40:20:40 ratio, allowing for flexible use of luggage space. The luggage capacity is 615L in normal conditions, and can be expanded to a maximum of 1,655L by folding down the rear seats.
Latest technology, safety and comfort equipment
The new Tiguan is packed with the latest driver assistance systems and comfort features.
The vehicle is equipped with a full range of safety features, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keep assist system (Lane Assist), blind spot monitor (Side Assist), and park assist, to support safe driving.
In terms of comfort features, the car is packed with features to support a comfortable drive, such as a head-up display, wireless charging, smartphone connectivity, an electric tailgate, and a panoramic sliding roof.
The new Tiguan also features the improved parking assistance system “Park Assist Plus.”
The new Tiguan is also equipped with the advanced parking assistance system “Park Assist Plus.” Parking is now even easier by automatically controlling not only the steering but also the accelerator and brake. Furthermore, the memory function memorizes operations performed from 50 meters before the parking space, and up to five operations can be registered.
About the new Tiguan’s powertrain
The new Tiguan is available with two powertrains: a 1.5L eTSI mild hybrid system and a 2.0L TDI clean diesel engine. The 1.5L eTSI gasoline turbo engine produces a maximum output of 110kW (150PS) and a maximum torque of 250Nm and is equipped with Active Cylinder Management (ACT), which improves fuel economy and enables eco-coasting. The 2.0L TDI diesel turbo engine produces a maximum output of 142kW (193PS) and a maximum torque of 400Nm and uses a twin-dosing system to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

“DCC Pro” first adopted in the new “Tiguan”
Of particular note is the “DCC Pro” system, which is being adopted for the first time in the new Tiguan. This system uses two independent valves and separate oil circuits for the rebound and compression sides, allowing for more precise control of damping force. This technology combines dynamic driving with a comfortable ride. In addition, sport mode provides light handling, while comfort mode provides a comfortable ride.
Furthermore, the “Vehicle Dynamics Manager,” a first for Volkswagen, provides highly coordinated control of the “DCC Pro” and electronic differential lock (XDS), enabling independent variable control of each of the four wheels according to driving conditions and achieving precise steering response.
New “Tiguan” specifications
The new Tiguan comes in three grades: Active, Elegance, and R-Line.
