Subaru will announce and begin selling the E-model, a partial improvement to the Levorg, on December 12, 2024. The company will also add a special edition STI Sport R-Black Limited model, based on the STI Sport R EX and equipped with black RECARO seats. This improvement includes changes to improve the quality of the interior and exterior, making it a more attractive model.
About the new Levorg E-type partial improvement
The E-type model also has a revised seat texture to improve comfort. The Smart Edition grade has been changed from tricot seats to tricot/fabric seats, providing a more luxurious seating experience.
With this improvement, the “Smart Edition EX” and “GT-H EX” grades will continue to be sold without any price changes. In addition, the “STI Sport” grade now comes standard with a smart rearview mirror, further improving safety.
For the GT-H EX grade, it is now possible to select the Smart Rearview Mirror as a manufacturer option on its own, rather than as a set option with the Harman Kardon sound system.
Furthermore, the “Smart Edition EX” has had its armrests changed from hard to soft-touch for improved comfort, while the “STI Sport” grades have had their Bordeaux seat area adjusted to create a more refined impression.
In terms of driving assistance equipment, the cooperation between the “Driver Monitoring System” and the “Driver Abnormality Response System” has been strengthened. The “Driver Abnormality Response System” is now activated not only if the steering wheel is not operated for an extended period of time, but also if the driver is distracted or falls asleep at the wheel.
In addition, pulse braking, which uses intermittent braking to alert the driver, and coastdown (coasting) have been added, and the timing at which the hazard lights flash when the Driver Abnormality Response System is activated has been changed to coincide with the start of deceleration control. Furthermore, EyeSight’s Vehicle Centering Control and Leading Vehicle Following Control have been improved. When driving near the center of the lane on a straight road, the steering feel is lighter to make it easier to intervene, and when driving around sharp curves or near white lines, the steering feel is heavier for safety reasons, providing a safer and more comfortable long drive.
Special edition “STI Sport R-Black Limited” added
Of particular note is the addition of the special edition “STI Sport R-Black Limited.” This model combines sporty driving performance with a high-quality interior space, bringing out the new appeal of the Levorg.
In addition, the special edition “STI Sport R Black Limited” features black RECARO seats, further emphasizing the sporty atmosphere. By using black on the pillars and ceiling, a sense of unity is created throughout the interior, creating a sophisticated space.
The exterior also features exclusive black parts, giving it a bold impression. The design, which has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, will satisfy the joy of ownership.

About the new Subaru Levorg D-type
This minor change, a major improvement (D-type model), will see changes to the exterior design and image. A triple camera (stereo camera unit + wide-angle monocular camera) will be adopted . EyeSight X will be standard equipment on all vehicles. Subaru will adopt a Digital Multi-View Monitor that combines images from four cameras to display a 360-degree view around the vehicle . The special edition Smart Edition will be the standard grade, and a new Levorg LAYBACK will be added.
Subaru’s new Levorg, partially improved D-type, adopts new generation EyeSight
Performance has been improved by adopting a triple camera (stereo camera unit + wide-angle monocular camera) . The new stereo camera unit has a significantly wider angle of view, approximately twice that of the previous model. The image recognition software and control software have been improved to enable recognition over a wider and farther range. The system has been changed to a windshield-mounted type, and a lens hood has been adopted to prevent accidental contact with the lens. The wide-angle monocular camera has a wider angle than the new stereo camera when driving at low speeds, and a new monocular camera has been adopted that can recognize motorcycles and pedestrians. The range of situations in which pre-crash braking can be applied has been expanded, achieving the best performance of any EyeSight model to date.

Subaru Levorg: SUBARU GLOBAL PLATFORM x Full Inner Frame Structure
The new platform “SUBARU GLOBAL PLATFORM (SGP)” used for the second-generation new “Levorg” is designed to be compatible with a variety of power units, including not only gasoline engines but also hybrids (HVs), plug-in hybrids (PHVs), and electric vehicles (EVs), all with a single design concept. It employs a “full inner frame structure” that contributes to high rigidity.

Subaru Global Platform
The gradual rollout of hybrid models using Toyota’s new units (the new Prius will be equipped with THS II, but the hybrid system will also be smaller) is planned to begin around 2018, and the SGP is a platform that assumes hybridization, even if it does not anticipate full electrification. SGP will be a new platform that will be adopted in future Subaru vehicles, similar to Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture).

Subaru Legacy 2020
Subaru Levorg adopts next-generation EyeSight X advanced driver assistance technology
The car expresses the image of a safe and enjoyable sports sedan that only SUBARU can offer, by combining the advanced driver assistance technologies that SUBARU expects to realize in 2020 with the high performance provided by the horizontally opposed engine and symmetrical AWD. By adopting the next-generation EyeSight with further improved performance, radar, high-precision GPS and maps, SUBARU aims to achieve the ultimate in safety, “zero car accidents.”
Subaru Levorg equipped with newly developed high-precision map and locator
The combination of EyeSight’s advanced forward recognition and omnidirectional radar not only allows the vehicle to grasp the traffic environment and hazards around the vehicle in all directions, but also utilizes high-precision GPS and high-precision map data to pinpoint the vehicle’s position with high accuracy and perform optimal control according to the curves, lanes, etc. on the driving route. These technologies not only enable collision avoidance when driving straight ahead, but also achieve omnidirectional collision avoidance with vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians when turning right or left at intersections or reversing. Furthermore, autonomous driving at all speeds on highways and autonomous parking in parking lots at home or commercial facilities are realized.
The locator accurately identifies the vehicle’s position via GPS and the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System “Michibiki,” and the car understands the shape of the expressway using a high-precision map, enabling hands-off driving assistance such as slowing down before curves and in traffic jams.

Subaru Levorg EyeSight
TJA (Traffic Jam Assist) semi-autonomous driving system. A function to follow vehicles in traffic jams on expressways (highways). Enables vehicles to follow curves in traffic jams. Assists driving by automatically controlling the steering, accelerator, and brakes at all speeds.
Pre-crash Braking: If the system determines there is a risk of a collision, it alerts the driver. If no evasive action is taken, it will apply brake control and automatically slow down or stop the vehicle. If the speed difference with the vehicle ahead is less than approximately 50 km/h, a collision will be avoided or damage will be reduced.
Active Lane Keep (Lane Departure Prevention) The active lane keep function (maintaining the center of the lane), which previously only worked at speeds of 60km/h or more, has been expanded to 0km/h, allowing it to follow the vehicle even in traffic jams, significantly reducing the burden on the driver.
Cruise control with all-speed tracking function. Cruise control with all-speed tracking function. Follows the vehicle ahead over a wide speed range from 0km/h to approximately 120km/h. (In response to planned increases in the maximum speed limit on some expressways.)
Automatic braking system when reversing
Rear Obstacle Warning Function: When an obstacle is detected behind the vehicle in R range, the MFD will display and sound an alarm to notify you of the obstacle’s proximity.
Automatic braking when reversing If the vehicle approaches an obstacle and there is a risk of rear-end collision, acceleration and braking control will be performed to try to avoid the collision.
Subaru Levorg EyeSight Safety Plus features
High Beam Assist : A monocular camera inside the front window detects light ahead and automatically switches between high and low beams depending on the situation, ensuring brighter and safer night vision.
Front View Monitor: The image from a camera mounted under the emblem in the front grille is displayed on the MFD to help the driver check what is ahead. This allows the driver to clearly see what is ahead, even when passing through intersections with poor visibility or pulling out of a garage.
The rear-mounted camera of the Smart Rear View Mirror ensures a clear view of the rear even when the luggage compartment is full of luggage or large items and a normal mirror cannot provide a clear view of the rear. It also allows rearward visibility to be confirmed from the passenger seat.
Auto Vehicle Hold: VDC keeps the vehicle stationary even when you take your foot off the brake pedal when stopped on level ground. This improves convenience in situations where you must keep your foot on the brake pedal, such as when waiting at a long traffic light or in a traffic jam on a public road.
Steering-linked headlights By illuminating the direction the vehicle is traveling early in response to steering operations, you can ensure a clear view even at night.
Subaru Levorg Connected Service SUBARU STARLINK (First in Japan to be adopted by SUBARU)
As part of “connected safety,” the car automatically sends an emergency call in the event of a collision. An operator will request rescue from the fire department or police, and by cooperating with cooperating hospitals, the advanced automatic emergency call system will lead to rapid life-saving efforts. In the event of an emergency, such as when the driver becomes ill, the car is also equipped with an SOS call function that connects you to an operator with the push of a button.
