About the new Honda CR-V e:FCEV
The CR-V e:FCEV is the first fuel cell vehicle released by a Japanese automaker to feature a plug-in function that allows it to be charged externally . While retaining the long driving range and short hydrogen refueling time of approximately three minutes that are characteristic of fuel cell vehicles, the addition of a plug-in function that allows charging at home or on the go further enhances convenience. The CR-V e:FCEV is expected to have a driving range of over 600km on a single fill-up, and an EV driving range of over 60km. In addition to the high-output power supply from the external power output device, the dedicated power supply connector that connects to a standard charging port allows for easy power extraction, providing convenience and peace of mind in all situations, including everyday use, leisure activities, and during power outages.
Honda’s new “CR-V e:FCEV” features a fuel cell system jointly developed with GM
Based on the CR-V SUV sold in North America, it is equipped with a fuel cell system jointly developed with GM. In addition to the FCEV’s advantage of being able to travel long distances with short refueling times, it also combines the convenience of an EV with the ability to be charged at home thanks to its plug-in functionality. The new powertrain, jointly developed with General Motors, is said to be one-third the cost and twice as durable as the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell. It is also said to have significantly improved low-temperature resistance.

The AC charging connector complies with the SAE J1772 standard for standard charging in Japan and the United States. Simply connect it to a household AC outlet for easy vehicle charging. 200V charging takes approximately 2.5 hours. By connecting the Honda Power Supply Connector, an AC external power supply connector, to the standard charging port, the vehicle can also be equipped with an external power supply function capable of supplying up to 1500W of AC power, making it useful as a power source during power outages or for outdoor leisure activities. Furthermore, the Japanese model also features a DC external power supply function that can supply high-output power in emergencies or outdoor events by connecting a portable external power supply such as the Power Exporter e:6000 or Power Exporter 9000 to the CHAdeMO DC power supply connector installed in the trunk.
