Daihatsu to exhibit seven customized cars themed around motorsports and community contribution at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025!

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that it will exhibit at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, which will be held at Makuhari Messe from Friday, January 10th to Sunday, January 12th, 2025. Based on its mission of “being close to customers and enriching their lives,” the company will exhibit a total of seven unique customized cars under the two themes of “expanding the base of motorsports and making the joy of driving available to everyone” and “being close to the community and protecting everyday life.”

The first thing to note is the efforts being made to convey the appeal of motorsports to more people.

As an entry-level model, the Mira e:S GR SPORT Concept will be released. This light vehicle is equipped with a turbo engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, allowing for casual sporty driving. Based on the Mira e:S, which combines low price with nimble handling, this model is equipped with special bumpers and sports seats, giving it a sporty appearance.

Furthermore, Daihatsu aims to “make better cars” by feeding back the knowledge it gains from participating in motorsports into its production vehicles. As part of this, the Mira e:S Motorsports car, which competes in the All Japan Rally Championship and other events, will also be on display. This vehicle is a full-fledged machine optimized for racing, with original tower bars, a roll cage, and a two-seater design.

Additionally, the “Copen GR SPORT Motorsports Car,” which competes in the World Rally Championship and other competitions, will also be on display. This car has an increased engine displacement of 770cc and is equipped with a turbocharger, resulting in a more powerful performance. It also comes equipped with a full range of racing equipment, including wide fenders and a roll cage.

Utilizing the knowledge gained through disaster relief efforts, the Atrai WILDRANGER2 is equipped with the necessary power source and an original disaster prevention kit, making it a reliable presence in times of disaster. Equipped with a hard cargo carrier, an external power source, an original disaster prevention kit storage box, and more, it will contribute to relief efforts in disaster-stricken areas.

Also on display will be the “Hijet Truck Lift Disaster Relief Vehicle,” which served as a volunteer satellite center in the relief efforts following the heavy rains in northern Kyushu. Equipped with solar panels, a portable power source, and a high-pressure washer, it will support recovery efforts in the affected areas. Equipped with an original lift, hard cargo carriers, and an original top, it is a vehicle that can meet a variety of needs.

Furthermore, the “Hijet Truck Tool Base” will also be released, aimed at improving the working environment at construction sites. The tool base, which is placed on the bed of a light truck, is equipped with a multifunctional storage space including a clothes rack, as well as a sunshade tent that can be used during breaks. It also comes with a whiteboard and can be used for meetings, making it an item that contributes to improving work efficiency.
