Head-up displays (HUDs) are becoming an option or standard feature on higher-grade models in new models released in 2025. Once you’ve used them, you’ll find them indispensable. We’ve compiled a list of which models are equipped with this feature as of May 2025. We hope this information will be helpful when making your purchase.
What is a “head-up display”?
A “head-up display” is a system that projects basic information for the driver onto the windshield of a car. There are two types: one that projects the information directly onto the windshield, and one that projects the information onto a dedicated projection board (combiner). The type that projects the information directly onto the windshield is the most common.

The need for a “head-up display”
A head-up display allows you to check various information while driving without shifting your field of vision. Recently, in addition to displaying speed, it also works in conjunction with the navigation screen to show you when to turn right or left.
Impressions of using the head-up display
merit
When driving on the highway, the system will show you route guidance linked to the navigation system, including your speed and maximum speed signs, so you can concentrate on driving.
Disadvantages
If you turn on the “head-up display” while driving on a public road, you will inevitably have to keep an eye on people, bicycles, obstacles, etc., so you will not be able to concentrate on one thing while driving, which can actually obstruct your field of vision. Current Toyota vehicles do not have a physical switch to turn the “head-up display” on and off, so it cannot be easily switched on and off. This is unfortunate as it is not suitable for situations where you only want to use it when driving on the highway.

Vehicles equipped with “Head-up Display” in 2024
It is clear that some manufacturers are taking the lead in adopting “head-up displays” and others have no intention of adopting them at all.
