New Crown Sport partial improvement Strategic new grade “G” introduced
Until now, the Crown Sport has been offered in two grades: the hybrid “Z” grade and the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) “RS” grade. However, the new “Crown Sport G” added in this improvement is positioned as a strategic grade to deliver the appeal of the Crown Sport to a wider range of users.

Toyota Crown Sport
The “G” grade maintains the sophisticated beauty of the higher-end “Z” grade in terms of exterior design, while optimizing the interior and some of the equipment, resulting in a significant price reduction. Specifically, the genuine leather seats used in the “Z” grade have been changed to a fabric and synthetic leather combination, and the digital inner mirror has been replaced with an auto-dimming inner mirror. Furthermore, the passenger seat power seat, front seat heaters and seat ventilation, steering wheel heater, steering wheel touch sensor, etc. are omitted, and power easy access is limited to steering operation only.
Additionally, some safety features, such as Emergency Steering Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Advanced Park + Parking Support Brake, Advanced Drive Traffic Jam Assist, and Driver Monitor Camera, have been omitted, resulting in a more accessible price. With the introduction of the Crown Sport G, the starting price of the new Crown Sport has been significantly reduced from the previous 5.9 million yen to 5.2 million yen, creating a price difference of 700,000 yen. This pricing strategy is sure to be an extremely attractive option for customers who want to “experience the inherent driving performance of the Crown Sport more easily.”
New Crown Sport partial improvement Special edition “The 70th” model celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Crown’s birth

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the birth of the first Crown in 1955, a special edition Crown Sport, “Crown Sport The 70th,” will be released. This special edition vehicle, which has already been released for the Crown Crossover and other models, will further enhance the historical significance of the Crown Sport.

The special edition “The 70th” boasts unique interior and exterior design befitting its commemorative status. Available body colors include “Precious Metal x Precious White Pearl” and “Precious Metal x Precious Black Pearl,” further enhancing its striking presence. Exclusive 21-inch matte black aluminum wheels create a bold impression. The interior, based on a Black Lustre color scheme, features special 70th anniversary design touches throughout, including a premium shift knob with a special logo, special laser accents on the instrument panel, projection courtesy illumination, manual case, and even the vehicle key. Furthermore, optional special side decals clearly identify this special edition vehicle. New Crown Sport partial improvement Minor improvements and functional enhancements to existing grades
This improvement not only adds new grades and introduces special edition vehicles, but also makes detailed enhancements to the existing “Z” and “RS” grades.
Of particular note is the addition of black as an interior color to the PHEV model. Until now, the interior of the PHEV model was only available in a combination of black and sensual red, but this new option has been added in response to customer requests for an all-black interior. This means that customers can choose a more chic and calm space while maintaining the sporty image of the PHEV model.
Additionally, both the “Z” and “RS” grades have been given the ability to lock/unlock the rear door handles. This is a feature already available in the current Harrier, and contributes to improved convenience. The fact that such subtle improvements have been made without changing the price is sure to be welcome news for existing grade owners.
Furthermore, for some body colors, the color of the shark fin antenna has been changed, which is a rather nerdy but still impressive improvement that shows attention to design. For the three body colors “Emotional Red III,” “Mustard,” and “Ash,” the shark fin antenna has been changed to black, giving the car a more toned impression.

The Crown Sport made its spectacular debut in October 2023 as the second model in the new-generation Crown series. Its features include excellent handling performance thanks to the adoption of the rear-wheel steering system “Dynamic Rear Steering,” high rigidity achieved by using hub bolts to fasten the wheels, and high safety thanks to an advanced 12.3-inch digital meter and the latest “Toyota Safety Sense.” Additionally, Toyota’s first adoption of a “sound-adjusting ceiling” enhances interior quietness, providing a high-quality travel space.
These improvements demonstrate the Crown Sport’s ability to sensitively respond to market needs and constantly evolve. The addition of a new entry-level grade will provide more customers with the opportunity to experience the Crown Sport’s appeal, and the special edition model will symbolize the Crown’s rich history and expectations for the future. These advancements suggest that the Crown Sport will continue to attract attention and popularity in the Japanese automobile market.
With its sophisticated design, advanced technology, and strategic pricing, this improved new Crown Sport model will appeal to customers with diverse lifestyles. We can’t wait for its release on July 10, 2025.
