Tesla announced a facelift for its electric vehicle (EV) Model 3 on September 1, 2023. It will go on sale in the US on January 10, 2024 (local time). Compared to the previous model, it features a series of exterior, interior, and technological upgrades, and its range has also been extended. Prices for the entry-level RWD and long-range AWD trims have remained unchanged.
Tesla’s new Model 3 minor change exterior
The exterior design maximizes aerodynamic performance, with the body now 25mm longer at 4,720mm and 1mm wider at 2,089mm compared to the previous model. The front includes a pair of slim LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights atop a revised bumper with sharper lines and a new lower grille opening. The rear end has also been refreshed with new LED taillights, and Tesla is offering new 18- or 19-inch aluminum wheels. The drag coefficient has been reduced from 0.23Cd to 0.219Cd, contributing to improved range.












Tesla’s new Model 3 interior with minor changes
The interior features a wraparound design that envelops the passenger compartment, ambient lighting that flows across the dashboard and into the doors, new door panels, added ventilation to the front seats, an improved 17-speaker sound system, and the steering column switches for operating turn signals and shifting gears have been eliminated. The interior, like Tesla’s flagship sedan, the Model S, features a stokeless design, front seat ventilation, an enlarged main infotainment screen from 15 inches to 15.4 inches, and an 8-inch touchscreen for the rear seats, making the Model 3 a more comfortable cabin than ever before. Interior materials have been changed to “softer, more refined materials.” Two interior colors are available: “black” and “black/white,” and ambient lighting is also available to surround the cabin.

The range has been increased by more than 5% , and the range per charge has improved to 513 km (WLTP range) for the RWD (rear-wheel drive) and 629 km (WLTP range) for the Model 3 Long Range AWD. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.1 seconds for the RWD and 4.4 seconds for the Long Range AWD.

The price for the RWD (rear-wheel drive) Model 3 RWD is 5,613,000 yen, and for the Model 3 Long Range AWD it is 6,519,000 yen.
