The new CLA boasts a sophisticated exterior similar to the recently facelifted Tesla Model 3 sedan, and is said to be very attractive. One notable feature is the three-pointed star design that forms the three points of the front and rear DRLs. This design first appeared on the Mercedes CLA Concept , and Mercedes design chief Gordon Wagner has stated that this design could become a regular design motif for the brand in the future.

The new CLA is built on the new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) platform. At the concept’s debut, the powertrain will feature 800V technology and can be charged at 250kW, extending the range by 400km in 15 minutes. It also features a 235hp (175 kW / 238 PS) electric motor and a total range of over 750km.

While much of the concept’s exterior design will be carried over to the new car, the interior has been toned down slightly for production, and it features an upgraded AI-enabled MBUX infotainment system, a full-width diamond-shaped dashboard display that floats above the center console, creating a sleek design that also draws attention.

Spy shots of the CLA’s interior show a vent positioned between the screen and console on the dashboard, giving it a more refined look than the previous model. There’s a fabric drape on the passenger side, and it’s unclear if the screen extends across the entire car, though we’re guessing it probably will. It’s likely optional.
